Motrove is designed to help users organize vehicle information, service records, maintenance reminders, receipts, recalls, and related vehicle-care information. We respect your privacy and have designed Motrove to keep your vehicle records primarily on your device.
Information Stored on Your Device
Motrove stores information you choose to enter into the app, which may include vehicle year, make, model, mileage, VIN, nickname, service and repair records, maintenance reminders, costs, notes, parts information, and receipt or invoice images.
This information is stored locally on your device. Motrove does not require you to create an account, and Motrove does not operate a cloud account system that uploads your service history to our servers.
Information stored locally remains on your device until you delete the information or remove the app, subject to any device backups or other services you separately use through Apple.
VIN Decoding and Safety Recall Information
To provide VIN decoding and safety recall features, Motrove may send vehicle information such as a VIN, year, make, or model over the internet to services provided by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
This information is used to return vehicle identification and recall information requested by you. Information processed by NHTSA is also subject to NHTSA’s own privacy practices.
Motrove does not use VIN information for advertising or marketing.
Camera and Photos
Motrove may request access to your device’s camera to scan a vehicle VIN.
If you choose to attach a receipt, invoice, or other image to a service record, that image is stored with the record on your device.
Motrove does not use your camera or photos for advertising, tracking, or analytics.
Notifications
Motrove may request permission to send notifications for maintenance reminders.
Maintenance notifications are used to alert you about reminders you create in the app. You can change notification permissions at any time through your device’s Settings.
Purchases
Motrove may offer optional features through Motrove Pro.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Motrove does not receive or store your credit card number or other payment-card information.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Motrove does not display third-party advertising.
The current version of Motrove does not use third-party advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs to track you across apps or websites.
Motrove does not sell your personal information.
Exporting and Sharing
Motrove allows you to generate and share vehicle-care information, including Motrove Passport documents.
Nothing is shared unless you choose to initiate the export or sharing process. Once you share information with another person, app, or service, that information is subject to the privacy practices of the destination you selected.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because Motrove’s service records and other user-entered information are stored locally, you control their retention.
You can delete individual information from within Motrove where deletion controls are provided. Removing Motrove from your device removes its locally stored application data, subject to any backups maintained separately by your device or Apple services.
Because Motrove does not currently provide user accounts or maintain a server-side database of your service records, there is no Motrove account containing those records that needs to be separately deleted.
Children’s Privacy
Motrove is a vehicle maintenance and record-keeping application and is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Motrove changes. If our data practices materially change, this policy will be updated accordingly.
The effective date shown at the top indicates when this Privacy Policy was last updated.
