These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Motherboard Chrome extension ("Extension", "we", "our", or "us"). By installing or using Motherboard, you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the extension.
Motherboard provides a custom note-taking interface that replaces your browser’s new tab. By using the Extension, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
All code, branding, logos, and related assets of Motherboard are the intellectual property of the developer or owning entity and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You may not reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the Extension without explicit permission.
a. Storage
Currently, all content (notes, files) is stored locally in your browser. You are responsible for managing and backing up your own content.
b. Future Features
We may introduce features such as user accounts, cloud sync, and file sharing. By using those features, you acknowledge that:
You are responsible for the content you upload or share.
You will not upload illegal, offensive, or harmful content.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
You agree not to:
Use the extension for unlawful or malicious purposes
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems (if/when cloud features are introduced)
Abuse the file sharing feature (e.g., to distribute spam, malware, or copyright-infringing materials)
We reserve the right to restrict access or disable accounts that violate these rules.
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data to help improve the Extension. This data does not include personal information. By using the Extension, you consent to this usage tracking.
You may opt out using tools such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Motherboard is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your particular needs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
We are not liable for any loss of data, loss of productivity, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Extension.
You use the Extension at your own risk.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Extension at any time, with or without notice. We may update these Terms occasionally; continued use of the Extension implies acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of [Your Country/State], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
