Hi, my name is Christina Rose and I am so excited that you are here! I am a registered nurse who serves in a professional development role to empower career growth and support healthcare professionals' well-being. As a nurse, I understand the benefits of mindfulness, and I've experienced my own evolution of practice through gardening.
Shortly after moving into our home our neighbor cut down two large trees due to disease and it was impossible to keep our lawn green.
We were wasting a valuble resource on a crop that did not benefit us, our community, or the eco-system. By removing our lawn and replacing with a mixture of native, cut flower, and edible plants, we have reduced our consumption of water, continue to make meaningful connections with our neighbors, grow fresh produce that replaces items from the grocery store, and found a mindfulness practice that builds up our resiliency and adaptability to change.
Don't be fooled by the magic of the internet and social media. Our yarden has taken 5+ years to develop into what you see today.
By going slow, we have been able to tackle each area within our garden without overwhelm, learn from our mistakes, and continue to improve season to season.
