Moss Lake Property Owners Association (MLPOA)
The Kings Mountain Water Reservoir, also known as “Moss Lake”, is a 1,600 acre lake owned and managed by the City of Kings Mountain. There are less than 600 parcels adjoining this lake with another 300 + nearby parcels all whose property owners are eligible for membership in the MLPOA. This is a voluntary organization whose sole purpose is to protect the rights and interests of lakefront property owners and our neighbors who benefit from the recreational uses of the lake.
1. About MLPOA
The sole purpose of MLPOA is to protect the rights and interests of private lakefront and lake property owners.
MLPOA is the only group available on Moss Lake that supports all lake property owners.
MLPOA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) recorded with the NC Secretary of State.
Funds are held in an interest-bearing account and used for legal or political action to support lake property owners. In addition, funds are used for printing and distribution of dues invoices and membership-related communication and meetings as necessary. Our focus is to grow this fund for your protection.
MLPOA officers and area representatives are available to hear your concerns and share information with the Moss Lake Commission.
Two of the seven members of the Moss Lake Commission are members of MLPOA.
MLPOA will not share its member list with any person or group outside of MLPOA.
2. Community and Advocacy
The City of Kings Mountain, whose representatives we cannot vote for, can decide to impose restrictions and additional financial burdens upon all lakefront property owners and those using the lake for recreational purposes
MLPOA is working to stop the influx of debris, sedimentation, and improve water management by the city.
We are all neighbors; we live and socialize here together, and it will benefit everyone if we work together.
The unanimous support of MLPOA will give strength to our views and data presented. Being a member of MLPOA will help ensure you have a voice. Your voice counts.
MLPOA encourages all property owners to support the association for collective benefit.
Upon request, all paid members may request to be added to our Facebook group called Moss Lake Property Owners Association. https://www.facebook.com/groups/3926384390784955
