To apply to be considered for the 2026-27 ASB Council, please complete the following online application and have two teachers each submit a Teacher Recommendation Form on your behalf. In doing so, you are acknowledging that you have read through the 2026-2027 ASB Council Election Handbook and understand all content and expectations. You must use your student Google account to complete the form.

Print 2 copies of the Teacher Recommendation Form and give to two teachers who know you (current and/or former teachers).
Please tell your teacher to give a detailed message on why you qualify to be in ASB, not just a sentence. We will NOT accept a recommendation form if it has just a sentence.
Applications and TWO Teacher Recommendations will be accepted until March 13th, 2026

Here's what you need to know:
The ASB Council is a dedicated group of students who want to work together in service to the entire Associated Student Body. Students who are on the ASB Council want to be involved in supporting their school and their class, and they want to be proactive in planning and executing events with the hope of promoting school spirit. It is expected that all members of the ASB Council are active participants during the school day as well as time outside of the school day, including weekends.

Eligibility Requirements
9-12 academic WGPA of 3.0 or higher
Maintain an academic WGPA of 3.0 or higher, with no "F" grades, for ALL grade reporting periods
Maintain a citizenship GPA of 3.0 or higher, with no "U" grades, for ALL grade reporting periods
No suspensions
ENROLLMENT IN THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT CLASS (ASB CLASS), FOR THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR, IS REQUIRED FOR ALL MEMBERS OF THE ASB COUNCIL

2026-27 ASB Council Election Timeline:
Teacher Recommendations due no later than the end of the school day on March 13th, 2026
Applications (Google Form) accepted until 11:59 PM on March 13th, 2026
Applicants who qualify to make the ballot will be notified on March 16th, 2026
Interviews will be during second period, the week of March 23rd to 27th
All qualified applicants will be notified of the interview results after all interviews have been held.
While in ASB, you are held to a higher standard than others – you are considered to be a leader
of the school. You have responsibilities and duties as part of your ASB position. While in ASB,
you will be expected to meet the following standards and expectations. Failure to comply will
result in consequences ranging from lowered citizenship and/or academic grades, to removal
from the ASB class and loss of the position. In addition to fulfilling the duties specific to your job, you will:
1. Enroll in the ASB (Student Government) class.
2. Keep your grades at a 3.0 or higher (scholarship and citizenship), with no “F” or “U” grades,
for all grading periods.
3. Dress for ALL Spirit Days, and dress up every Friday in MHS colors (blue, gold, white).
4. Attend ALL Pep Rallies, and clean-up after ALL Pep Rallies.
5. Follow the rotating schedule of working in the ASB student store.
6. Help publicize all activities.
7. Attend the Homecoming Dance and ALL other ASB-sponsored dances/events.
8. Be prepared to commit time during the summer, as well as before and after school,
including evenings and weekends, to work on ASB planning and activities.
9. Be respectful and productive during ASB meetings and discussions.
10. Make sure that your job gets done – delegate as needed.
11. Take initiative – if something needs to be done, help out – even if it’s not your job.
12. It is understood that each member should appreciate and not abuse the privileges available to him/her.
13. Be a positive role model and an ambassador for the Morse ASB Council and for Morse High School.
14. Seek to make Morse High School a positive environment where every student feels welcome and safe.
