"History sucks! It is so boring..."

-Countless Students Throughout America

Indeed, history can be terribly mind-numbing. Often taught through banal strategies, a student's regurgitation of rote information is more often than not an extension of memorization instead of an appreciation for deeper understanding and personal connections. It is my contention that students need a multitude of things, but three things in particular to begin loosening themselves from the chains that bind them.

INQUIRY + DISCOVERY + PERSPECTIVE = UNDERSTANDING

Deeper understanding requires these three ingredients. The initial question, that serves as the catalyst for investigation and will focus the mind's thoughts. The questions leads to uncovering / discovering solutions to those questions, while perspective provides us the lens with which we should frame our information.

With that being said let us begin the challenge of liberating our minds from porous ideological myths and compose a narrative more in tune with truth, justice, and just as important - perspective.
