During my last year of Undergrad, I had the opportunity to take a social media storytelling class. In this class, I learned to make my own social media content. The examples below are assignments/content that I got to create and share online.
TikTok
A Day in the Life
In this TikTok, I worked on making a Day in the Life. This video discussed what a day in the life looks like as a college student. I learned how to use Capcut to edit the video and put it together. On top of that, I learned how to use the voiceover tool to create audio for my audience to listen to the narration of the TikTok.
Nonfiction TikTok 1
My first nonfiction TikTok allowed me to create a video about a topic that I was interested in. For this video, I talked about fashion's presence in soccer and Formula 1. While making this TikTok, I learned how to edit using TikTok's interface. This ranged from me learning how to cut, use the greenscreen feature, and add captions to my work.
Nonfiction TikTok 2
My second nonfiction TikTok covered the topic of soccer kits. I rated some new kits that countries dropped for their upcoming summer tournaments/competitions. With the greenscreen, TikTok editing, and caption skills that I learned, I was able to put together this video.
Nonfiction TikTok 3
For my third nonfiction TikTok, I had the opportunity to capture on the scene content at the Premier League Fan Fest in Nashville, TN. To edit my video, I turned to my Capcut skills to stitch this video together. I also used my voiceover skills that I learned in TikTok's interface to add audio to this video.
Nonfiction TikTok 4
In this final TikTok, I discuss the effects of commenting on the appearance of women. To create this video, I heavily leaned on my skills of using the greenscreen tool and the editing tools of the TikTok interface to bring it to life.
YouTube
For the video essay assignment, I chose to talk about the Premier League. I had to learn to film and edit for YouTube. Skills that I learned included filming in a 16:9 ratio and editing in Adobe Premiere. With this assignment, I also learned how to incorporate b-roll within my video.
Two Column Script
For my Youtube video essay, I had to put together a two-column script. This script helped me coordinate what I had planned to say in my video. I also included visuals in the other column, to help me when editing. As I was editing the video, I was able to insert which visuals I needed to include at the right time.
