Bachelors in Biochemistry, Engineering (Chemical Concentration),
minor in Biomedical Engineering Calvin University (Grand Rapids) 2023
During my undergraduate studies I realized that I enjoyed my biology and chemistry classes in addition to my engineering courses leading me to pursue Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry. I am passionate about combining these two areas to help create new or improved solutions in bioproduction of chemicals. My current research regards a Metabolic Flu Analysis of a yeast given different types of carbon sources, including ones often found in plants. When not in the lab, I am a big sports fan, following mostly soccer and football.
I am a Sophomore in Chemical Engineering with intended minors in Mathematics, Japanese, Business Economics, and Chemistry. I am involved in research investigating the effect of wind exposure on the production of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in Petunia flowers. On campus, I am a part of the Purdue chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Society of Women Engineers, and Omega Chi Epsilon (OXE). I am also a tutor for the Women in Engineering program on campus. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, catching up on my sleep, and watching anime!
