During my junior year, I got the chance to take ceramics. I was excited not only because the class was part of the global scholars program but also because I wanted to explore a new art form. Over the year, we created lots of fun projects like Thanksgiving dishes, animal sculptures, and carvings of people who inspire us. While making these creative pieces was enjoyable, some projects included lessons, such as the Role Model wall hanging and the final assignment. For the final project, we studied three different cultures and their art styles. Our task was to design a vase inspired by one of these art forms. I chose the Ming Dynasty and designed my vase using its signature colors, light blue and white. I'm really grateful to my teacher and this class for giving me a new experience and helping me learn more about global cultures through art.
