MoreShare transfers files between devices on a local network or through an optional, user-configured self-hosted relay. This policy covers the MoreShare Android app.
You choose which files, folders, text, links, or contacts to transfer. MoreShare reads them only for the transfer you start. Contact export creates a vCard on your device and is sent only if you choose to share it. The camera scans QR codes; MoreShare does not save camera images. Nearby Wi-Fi access and location permission on older Android versions support local connectivity; MoreShare does not collect your geographic location. Notifications and a foreground service display transfer activity.
Your device name and network address may be visible to devices you discover or pair with. After your approval, the intended receiver obtains the selected files and their names. Native MoreShare peers encrypt file content and metadata end to end. Someone with a transfer link or QR code may try to connect, but the sender must approve the receiver. A receiver may keep transferred files.
Transfers use your local network by default. MoreShare has no developer-operated file cloud, advertising SDK, or usage analytics. If you configure a self-hosted relay, encrypted traffic passes through it. Its operator may see connection information, including IP addresses and timing, and may apply its own logging policy. The sample relay supplied with MoreShare does not persist file content. Browser receivers load code from the sender or relay, so use only networks and relays you trust.
MoreShare stores your device name, settings, and up to 100 recent history entries on your device. History includes file name, size, date, direction, and a local save path or receiver label. Received files and temporary chunks are stored locally. You can delete saved files in your file manager. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes app-private settings and history; exported or otherwise externally saved files may remain until you delete them.
Native transfers use X25519, HKDF, AES-256-GCM, and SHA-256 verification. Share transfer links and QR codes only with your intended receiver. You may stop a transfer, choose the content you send, change Android permissions in system settings, and delete your local data. No account is required.
We may update this policy if app behavior changes and will revise the effective date. Privacy questions: tikka.yulha@gmail.com.
