WELCOME TO Morarelina!
WELCOME TO Morarelina!
We are Morarelina. Actually, we are a group consisting of five girls - three from Germany and two from Israel.
Together we were working on an intercultural project and we created a collaborative task which can be implemented in the German and Israeli EFL classroom.
Please read through this page and make yourself familiar with our final product.

WHAT OUR PROJECT IS ABOUT ...
THE IDEA BEHIND THIS PROJECT
In our project we created a collaborative task for students from Israel and Germany. This task will help them develop intercultural communication skills. Especially in the context of English as an International Language, some students will go on to become fully bilingual speakers or to interact frequently with people from around the world. Thus we want our learners to understand the value of cultural diversity. Learning about another country, different cultures, beliefs and values, engages students in sharing opinions and ideas which will help them develop cross-cultural empathy and intercultural knowledge, understanding and tolerance.
This problem-oriented task can be implemented in the EFL classroom in Germany and in Israel. It involves different language skills which are practiced subconsciously. Moreover, language is used in an authentic way and enables the students to practice their communication skills by negotiating content in communicative situations.
However, it should also be mentioned that the students are communicating in English which is not their L1 and thus it seems probable that they will face certain challenges such as misunderstandings. Furthermore, the use of new media and digital tools may contribute to such challenges and at the same time opens up new possibilities of intercultural teaching and learning.
LET'S GO!
Dear students and teachers,
For the sake of clarity we created extra pages for both of you.
