Minor infractions refer to behaviors that disrupt the learning environment without posing significant risks, such as talking our of turn or showing slight disrespect. these typically warrant informal interventions, like verbal warnings from teachers. In contrast, major infractions involve serious violations of school policies, such as fighting or substance use, that can jeopardize the safety and well-being of students and staff. These behaviors require immediate attention and often result in more severe consequences, like suspenstions, to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment (TAC 2025).
