If you want a factory-authentic, precision-molded accessory that integrates seamlessly with your Jeep's original equipment, choose Mopar Genuine Trailer Hitch; if you need a vibrant, patriotic statement piece that offers a lightweight protective cap for your receiver tube, choose Beabes Ireland Flag Trailer. This is not a debate about which product is universally superior, but a clear decision based on whether your priority is OEM integrity or visual flair. For senior drivers who value reliability and a clean, unobtrusive look without the hassle of complex installation or loose-fitting parts, the Mopar option provides a sense of confidence in its fitment, whereas the Beabes flag cover appeals to those who want their vehicle to express personal heritage and style immediately upon seeing it.
• Mopar Genuine Trailer Hitch: Its biggest strength is the authentic OEM engineering designed specifically for 2017–2024 Compass and Wrangler models, ensuring a perfect fit every time; its trade-off is a strictly utilitarian black appearance that offers zero visual personality.
• Beabes Ireland Flag Trailer: Its biggest strength is the bold, colorful Irish national flag design that adds immediate elegance and character to any 2-inch receiver while protecting against rust; its trade-off is a generic rubber construction that may lack the structural rigidity of a molded plastic OEM part.
• The Mopar hitch cover is for the owner who treats their vehicle as a precision machine and values factory specs over customization.
• The Beabes cover is for the driver who views their vehicle as an extension of their identity and wants to display their Irish pride while keeping the hitch tube clean.
The Mopar Genuine Trailer Hitch Cover, identified by the part number 82213706, represents the standard of fitment for specific Chrysler Group vehicles. These dimensions are not arbitrary; they are engineered to match the exact geometry of the trailer hitch receiver found on the 2017 through 2024 Jeep Compass and the 2018 through 2024 Jeep Wrangler. For a buyer who owns one of these specific models, the appeal lies in the fact that this is not a universal adapter trying to force itself into place. It is a genuine Mopar component, meaning the manufacturer has validated that it belongs there.
This product is designed for the driver who prioritizes function and factory consistency above all else. The packaging indicates a single unit count, and the color is a solid black, matching the typical aesthetic of vehicle undercarriages and bumpers. There is no branding, no flashy graphics, and no extra bulk. It simply fills the void in the hitch receiver. For someone who keeps their vehicle in pristine condition and prefers that every accessory looks like it rolled off the assembly line, this is the logical choice. It does not draw attention to itself, which can be a significant advantage for those who dislike when accessories look like afterthoughts or cheap add-ons.

However, this product is not for everyone. If you drive a vehicle other than the specified Compass or Wrangler models, this part will likely not fit at all, regardless of how much you want it. Furthermore, if you enjoy customizing your vehicle to stand out from the crowd, the plain black finish offers nothing to personalize your ride. It is a purely functional item meant to hide the empty receiver tube. For a senior driver who might be looking for a low-profile solution that requires no maintenance and fits perfectly without wiggling, this offers peace of mind. But for anyone seeking a conversation starter or a way to show off their cultural background, this item will feel too sterile and boring. You get what you pay for in terms of materials and design intent: pure utility wrapped in official branding.
The Beabes Ireland Flag Trailer Hitch Tube Cover takes a different approach entirely. Instead of mimicking the vehicle's existing lines, it introduces a splash of color and culture. Made from durable black rubber, this cover features the Irish National Flag prominently displayed on its face. The key feature here is the material composition; it is constructed to be flexible yet tough enough to resist deformation and prevent falling off easily once inserted. This flexibility is crucial for a rubber plug that needs to seal tightly against the metal walls of the receiver tube.
This product is ideal for the driver who wants to protect their investment while making a statement. By sealing the opening, it prevents moisture from pooling inside, which is a primary cause of rust in steel receivers. For owners of SUVs, trucks, RVs, and sedans that use a standard 2-inch receiver, this cover acts as a barrier against the elements. The design is intended to add elegance to the rear of the vehicle, transforming a mundane mechanical part into a decorative element. It fits virtually any 2-inch trailer hitch receiver, giving it a broader compatibility range than the model-specific Mopar part.
Who should skip this? If you require a rigid, non-flexible insert that matches the exact factory tolerances of a specific Jeep model, the rubber construction might feel less substantial than the molded plastic of an OEM part. While the description claims it fits tightly, rubber components can sometimes expand or contract with extreme temperature changes more than hard plastics. Additionally, if you prefer a stealthy, invisible look where the accessory disappears into the dark background of the bumper, the bright green, white, and orange of the Irish flag will be impossible to ignore. It is a high-visibility accessory by design. For a senior driver who values ease of use, the fact that it requires no tools and can be pushed in or removed quickly is a major plus. It turns a daily chore of checking the hitch into a simple, tool-free action.
• Best for Exact Fitment → Mopar Genuine Trailer Hitch (Engineered specifically for 2017-24 Compass and 2018-24 Wrangler).
• Best for Universal Compatibility → Beabes Ireland Flag Trailer (Fits virtually any standard 2x2 inch receiver across trucks, SUVs, and sedans).
• Best for Material Durability → Mopar Genuine Trailer Hitch (OEM molded plastic designed to resist warping under heat and stress).
• Best for Weather Sealing → Beabes Ireland Flag Trailer (Flexible rubber design creates a tight seal against rain, snow, and debris).
• Best for Aesthetic Minimalism → Mopar Genuine Trailer Hitch (Solid black finish that blends perfectly with factory bumpers).
• Best for Personal Expression → Beabes Ireland Flag Trailer (Vibrant Irish flag design that showcases heritage and adds visual interest).
• Best for Senior Drivers Seeking Simplicity → Beabes Ireland Flag Trailer (No tools required for installation, lightweight, and easy to grip and push).
In my opinion, I would choose the Beabes Ireland Flag Trailer for the average driver, particularly for senior drivers who appreciate a balance of protection and ease of use. The ability to install it without tools and the lightweight nature of the rubber make it incredibly accessible for anyone who might struggle with stiff, heavy OEM parts. The added benefit of a tight rubber seal against rust-causing moisture gives it a practical edge that goes beyond mere aesthetics. However, if you own a 2017–2024 Jeep Compass or Wrangler and refuse to compromise on factory-spec fitment, the Mopar Genuine Trailer Hitch remains the only correct choice for preserving your vehicle's original integrity. Ultimately, the decision rests on whether you view your hitch as a functional hole to be plugged or a canvas for your personal style.
Yes, the Beabes cover is designed for standard 2"x2" inch trailer receiver tubes, which means it will fit most trucks, SUVs, and sedans regardless of the vehicle's age, provided it uses the standard hitch size.
According to the product specifications, the Mopar Genuine Trailer Hitch Cover is available only in a black finish, consistent with the original equipment design for the specified Jeep models.
The product is described as being made of durable black rubber designed to resist deformation and fall off easily, suggesting it is built to handle various weather conditions including snow and ice without losing its shape.
Both products are designed for removal; the Mopar cover pulls out to reveal the receiver, and the Beabes cover can be quickly installed and removed without tools simply by pushing it into or pulling it out of the receiver tube.
