Moonveil is a fantasy soundscape and ambience mixer app developed by LoreStone Studios.
This Privacy Policy explains how Moonveil handles information when you use the app. This version reflects the analytics and subscription-related functionality introduced with Moonveil version 1.1.4.
1. Information We Collect
Moonveil does not require you to create an account and does not ask you to provide personal information such as your name, email address, home address, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or precise location.
Moonveil and its service providers may process limited information needed for app functionality, subscriptions, advertising, analytics, diagnostics, and platform services. This may include:
- A randomly generated app user identifier
- App interaction events, such as app opens, playback activity, atmosphere or layer selections, saved scenes, and visits to Premium features
- App lifecycle events, such as the app entering the foreground or background
- Technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, platform, and screen dimensions
- Network information, such as an IP address, which may also provide an approximate general location
- Subscription and purchase information, such as product identifiers, subscription status, purchase or renewal events, price, currency, and the relevant app store
- Advertising-related device and interaction information where ads are displayed
The randomly generated app user identifier does not contain your name or email address. It is used to associate app analytics and subscription events belonging to the same user.
2. Subscriptions and Purchases
Moonveil may offer optional Premium access through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play or Apple. Moonveil does not directly collect or store your full payment-card details.
Moonveil uses RevenueCat to manage subscription access and purchase status. RevenueCat may process technical device information, a randomly generated app user identifier, app-store receipts or purchase tokens, subscription status, and transaction information needed to provide and maintain Premium access.
Subscription events may be sent from RevenueCat to PostHog using the same randomly generated identifier so that subscription activity can be associated with relevant app-usage events without using your name or email address.
3. Advertising
Moonveil may show advertisements in the free version of the app.
Ads may be provided by third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob. These services may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate device information, app interaction data, and related information in accordance with their own privacy policies and your device or platform privacy settings.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
Moonveil may store information locally on your device, including:
- Saved scenes and scene settings
- Volume and audio settings
- Timer and Scene Queue settings
- App preferences
- A randomly generated Moonveil user identifier
- A locally cached Premium-access status
This information is stored locally to operate the app and preserve your preferences. Some locally stored information may be removed if you uninstall the app or clear its data.
5. Analytics
Moonveil uses PostHog to understand how the app is used and to improve reliability, usability, and future development.
PostHog may process the randomly generated app user identifier, app interaction events, app lifecycle events, subscription events received through RevenueCat, and basic technical information about the app and device.
Moonveil does not use PostHog Session Replay or automatic interaction capture. PostHog is not configured by Moonveil to record your screen, microphone audio, text input, or the contents of other apps.
PostHog analytics are not used by Moonveil to follow users across unrelated apps or websites, build advertising profiles, or sell personal information.
6. Diagnostics and App Performance
Moonveil or its platform and service providers may process limited technical information to diagnose failures, monitor app reliability, and investigate technical problems.
This may include the app version, operating system, device type, timestamps, lifecycle state, and technical information associated with an app event or failure.
7. Children's Privacy
Moonveil is not directed at children under 13. LoreStone Studios does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through Moonveil, contact LoreStone Studios so that appropriate action can be taken.
8. Health and Medical Disclaimer
Moonveil is designed for ambience, relaxation, focus, sleep atmosphere, and entertainment purposes.
Moonveil is not a medical or therapeutic app and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Moonveil may use the following third-party services:

LoreStone Studios does not sell your personal information.
Information may be processed by third-party service providers only as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate Moonveil
- Provide and verify Premium access
- Process purchases and subscriptions
- Display advertisements
- Measure app usage
- Diagnose technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect the app, its users, or LoreStone Studios from fraud or misuse
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to the retention practices and legal obligations of the relevant service providers.
You may contact LoreStone Studios to request information about, or deletion of, analytics or subscription-related data associated with you. Because Moonveil does not require an account and uses a randomly generated identifier, LoreStone Studios may need additional technical information to locate the relevant records and may not always be able to associate stored data with a specific individual.
LoreStone Studios will take reasonable steps to process valid requests where the relevant information can be identified and deletion is technically and legally permitted.
12. Security
LoreStone Studios and its service providers use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
