Your YouTube Data API and Google Gemini API keys are required for the extension to function.
These keys are stored locally on your device and are AES-256 encrypted at rest.
The keys are only used to communicate directly with Google's official API endpoints.
Data extracted from YouTube (such as titles, views, descriptions) for competitor analysis is processed in real-time.
This data is either stored locally in your extension's storage or sent as a prompt to the Google Gemini API (if configured).
We do NOT transmit this data to any other servers.
Your trial start date and license status are stored in chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync to provide a consistent experience across your devices.
A hardware fingerprint is generated locally to prevent license abuse; this fingerprint is never sent to our servers.
MoonTube requests the following permissions for strictly defined purposes:
To save your local preferences, encrypted API keys, and favorite niches.
To provide a persistent workspace alongside your YouTube video player.
To retrieve the URL and context of the YouTube video you are currently analyzing.
To provide reminders for saved favorites and alert you of daily quota resets.
MoonTube interacts with the following third-party services:
Used to fetch public video and channel metadata.
Provides AI-driven strategy and script insights.
