DECLARATION OF MOONLIGHT MEADOWS Mission & Vision Statements: Here at Moonlight Meadows, our mission performs as a powerful road map and driver that informs every aspect of Moonlight Meadows and will guide us closer to our Vision—which is our guiding light: to continue the preservation of this quiet, quaint, and beautiful sacred piece of land located in the original Northeastern foothills of Brooksville, Florida. We aim to achieve our goals, mission, and vision; this is the very essence of who we are and all we believe in. We aspire to provide a safe place of peace, solitude, and serenity day or night, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Cause & Purpose Statements: Our cause was and is to create a D.G.C. design to accommodate all skill levels of disc golf, keeping it simple yet diverse, dynamic, challenging, and unique. We aim to uphold the original foundation and integrity on which disc golf has always stood: no competitive wagering, bets, or any organized events/tournaments. Our purpose is to bring ours and others' ideas that haven't been conceived of yet to life—create a place like no other that reflects our uniqueness.
RULES, REGULATIONS & COURSE SPECIFICATIONS
Arrival & Parking
Parking: Allowed beyond the gate, or in the alternative parking area (cleared with the right of passage) located to the left of our front gate/fence.
Text Upon Arrival: You must text either Vesta or Chuck upon arrival (not in advance). We live on the property and need to know who is here. Do not wait for a reply; once you have texted, proceed through the gate. The metal latch is located just inside the right side of the gate—flip it up and push it open. Always close the gate behind you.
Mandatory Waivers: Every person on the property must sign a digital waiver, whether you are here to play disc golf or not. This is strictly required for liability purposes. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian (18+).
Course Property & Amenities
Trash: Green trash bins are located at every hole. Please clean up after yourself and help preserve our land and course.
Shelters & Rest Areas: Covered areas, back deck stairs, picnic tables, and benches are available throughout the property for shelter from the rain or to cool down in the shade. Electricity is available upon request.
Pets: Friendly pets are welcome but must be leashed at all times unless given explicit permission otherwise.
Lost & Found: Please label your personal items. Notify us immediately if something is lost or found. Found items will be posted to our website to expedite their return. We are not responsible for lost/stolen items.
Course Gameplay & Penalties
The Log Cabin Rule: If you throw your disc in proximity to the house/log cabin and it hits or strikes the home or back porch, it is an automatic 2-stroke penalty.
Sacred Space / Gazebo Rule (Holes 5 & 13): Please be extremely mindful and respectful around holes 5 and 13. This area features a memorial gazebo serving as the resting place for my son and holds my mother's ashes in a fragile glass lantern, alongside other irreplaceable sentimental items. If your disc hits or strikes the gazebo, it is an automatic 2-stroke penalty. You MUST notify Vesta immediately if this occurs so the area can be personally assessed for any broken or damaged items.
Mandatory Drop Zones (Mandos - Holes 6, 8, & 13): A "mando" is a mandatory designated space that a player must make their disc past and inside of. If your first shot fails to make it through the required area, you receive a 1-stroke penalty. You must then take your next shot (which will count as your 3rd stroke) from the designated drop zones (small rectangular concrete markers in the ground, 40-60 ft from the basket).
Out of Bounds / Relief: If your disc goes out of bounds onto surrounding properties, you are allowed to retrieve it (a rite of passage!). You may retrieve discs off fences without an O.B. penalty. Relief may also be taken from any ant piles posing a threat.
Code of Conduct & Zero Tolerance Policy
Substance Policy: Alcohol is permitted if consumed responsibly; no alcohol-infused altercations will be tolerated. Legal prescriptions and OTC medications are allowed if not abused. Zero tolerance for illicit/illegal hard drugs. What you do in your free time is your business, but do not use recreational drugs on this property, display intoxication, or peer-pressure others.
Behavior: We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, hate crimes, hazing, negative peer pressure, controlling behaviors, discrimination, gossip, physical altercations, vandalism, threats, intimidation, coercion, or ill-intended actions.
Security: This property is monitored by security cameras covering all angles (recording motion and audio), alongside two protective, trained service dogs. In the event of a severe physical altercation, management reserves the right to use necessary, mandatory force to restrain and stop aggressors until law enforcement backup arrives. If you cannot hold your tongue or keep your hands to yourself, just leave now!
