Effective Date: [02-10-2026]
This Privacy Policy applies solely to the PDF Reader Android application published by Moonbow Apps on Google Play. It does not cover any other app, website, or service.
This app is published by Moonbow Apps ("we", "us").
For any question, request, or complaint about privacy, contact:
Email: feedback.moonbow@gmail.com
We aim to respond within 7 days.
To be explicit, PDF Reader does not:
Collect personal information of any kind.
Create or require an account.
Transmit data to us or to any third party.
Contain analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising software.
Use cookies, advertising identifiers, or tracking technologies.
Request any Android runtime permission.
Access files you have not explicitly selected.
Read, copy, upload, or scan the contents of your documents for any purpose other than displaying them to you on your device.
Include third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or data-collection SDKs.
The app does not declare the Android INTERNET permission and does not provide a network service or backend for transmitting user data.
As a result, PDF Reader does not send your documents or personal information to our servers or to third-party servers.
All document reading, bookmarks, highlights, notes, thumbnails, and other supported document processing take place locally on your device.
PDF Reader uses Android's Storage Access Framework.
You pick a folder or individual PDF files through the system file picker, and Android grants the app access to exactly what you selected — nothing more.
The app:
Cannot browse your device.
Cannot see files outside what you chose.
Cannot gain broader access without you picking something new.
You can withdraw this access at any time by removing a folder or file inside the app, or by clearing the app's data in Android Settings.
PDFs you open are read from your device into memory so their pages can be drawn on screen.
Page contents are:
Never copied off the device.
Never stored elsewhere.
Never analysed.
All of the following is stored only in the app's private storage area on your device.
It is not accessible to other apps, is not backed up to any server by us, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Information Stored, Why It Is Stored
Reading position — page number, scroll offset, zoom level, view mode, night mode, full-screen state
So a document reopens exactly where you stopped
Document list — file name, size, page count, date added, date last opened, favourite status
So your library persists between sessions
Access tokens for the folders and files you selected
So the app can reopen your documents without asking again
Bookmarks, highlights and notes you create
So your markup persists
Page thumbnails generated from your documents
So the library loads quickly
App settings — theme, default view mode, sort order, layout
So your preferences persist
Remove a document:
Removing a document from the library releases its access token. Your original file is untouched.
Everything at once:
Go to:
Android Settings → Apps → PDF Reader → Storage → Clear Storage
You can also simply uninstall the app.
There is nothing for us to delete on request because we never receive anything.
Three features can hand a file or text to another app, and only when you explicitly ask:
Sends the document to an app you select from the Android share sheet.
Saves a flattened copy to a location you choose through the system file picker.
Once the file reaches another app, service, or printer, it is governed by that provider's privacy policy, not this one.
We have no visibility into or control over what happens next.
The app itself sends us nothing.
However, Google Play — the store you installed the app from — collects certain information independently of us, such as installation counts, device model statistics, and crash reports that Android generates at the operating-system level.
This happens under Google's own policies, not ours.
We receive only anonymous, aggregated statistics through the Play Console. We cannot identify individual users from it.
Google's handling of that information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Because no data is transmitted, there is no transmission to intercept and no server to breach.
Data the app stores lives in Android's private app storage, protected by the operating system's application sandbox and, on modern Android versions, by full-disk or file-based encryption tied to your device lock.
Keeping your device updated and locked with a PIN, pattern, or biometric is the most effective protection for anything stored on it.
PDF Reader is a general-purpose document reader.
It is:
Not directed at children.
Not listed in Google Play's Families programme.
Free of content specifically intended for children.
Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either.
If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through this app, contact us. As described above, there is no mechanism by which this could occur.
The sections below describe rights you may hold under various laws.
In every case, the practical answer is the same: we hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or erase.
All data is on your device and already fully under your control.
Privacy requests can be sent to:
feedback.moonbow@gmail.com
We do not process personal data as defined by the DPDP Act and therefore do not act as a Data Fiduciary in respect of app users.
No consent notice is required because no personal data is collected.
Should this ever change, we will publish an updated policy and seek consent as the Act requires before any processing begins.
We do not collect or process personal data, and we are not a controller or processor of any user data arising from use of this app.
No data is transferred outside your device, so no international transfer mechanism is required.
Had we processed data, you would hold rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, along with the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Those rights are preserved in principle; there is simply no data to which they can attach.
We do not collect personal information as defined by the CCPA.
In the preceding twelve months, we have not collected, sold, or shared any category of personal information, and we have not disclosed any for a business purpose.
We do not sell or share personal information, so no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism is required.
You will never be discriminated against for exercising any privacy right, as there is no data on which to base differential treatment.
If you are covered by another privacy law, the same position applies: we collect nothing, so there is nothing held about you anywhere.
If a future version of the app adds a feature that collects or transmits data — for example, crash reporting, cloud sync, or advertising — we will:
Update this policy before that version is released.
Change the effective date above.
Update the Data Safety section of the Google Play listing to match.
Material changes will also be surfaced in the app itself.
Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy. If you do not agree with the updated policy, you can uninstall the app, which removes all stored data.
