After years of fruitless attempts to get a Disc Golf course in Claremont Alex Baldwin, Mike Lemieux of Pine Hill Construction and other local DG ambassadors were able to make an agreement with the Parks and Rec which would initiate the planning and timeline we would see soar into action this past summer.
Our course opened to the public on November 4, 2022 after merely 4 months of intensive labor and steady construction efforts from Pine Hill Construction. Our core group of about 4-5 volunteers were at the park almost daily working relentlessly to bring this course to the community.
As for the layout, Holes throw through the old camping sites and some small ravines. There is hiking in some areas as we were limited to space we could use and utilized the ravines as part of the courses unique and challenging terrain. Paths and hills are clearly cut, crushed concrete/ gravel Tee-pads at every hole, bright and helpful signage created by one of our core volunteers stand out along the course. The use of terrain and elevation changes will surprise even expert throwers.
Play responsibly and mind other park users as it's a shared space and one that we cherish. As always, carry in/carry out and be courteous to other park users and players. Please contact us at info@Moodyparkdiscgol.com if you find a disc that has no name or number on it. Understand that this course will continue to be a work in progress as our journey doesn't stop with making it playable but to make this a local destination course for fellow Disc Golfers!
