Hosted by the Moody Methodist Church in Galveston, Texas, Moody Market celebrates the talents of local artists in a family-friendly setting. Each year, vendors and shoppers gather to share delicious meals at the Moody Market Café and participate in what has become an annual artistic tradition. Featuring an auction, book sale, Sweet Shoppe and various local businesses, the festival strives to engage and unify the community. In addition to benefiting the artists and vendors, the event raises funds for outreach and mission work carried out by the Moody Methodist Church over the course of the year.
Seaside Treasure Festival was started in 1997 by a dedicated group of individuals. This event has been held annually (except for 2020 due to COVID).
In 2021 the name was changed to Moody Market to better reflect what we are—a market rather than a fair or festival—and to separate us from other seaside activities. We feel the name Moody Market showcases both the sponsor of this event (Moody Methodist Church) and the purpose of providing a fun and unique shopping experience. This event has grown into a very well known Galveston event.
Proceeds from Moody Market are used to support community mission work. These funds finance projects such as home repairs, wheelchair ramps, painting, yard work, flooring, and much more. Many of the clients selected are elderly, disabled or on fixed incomes.
