Thank you for using Mood Journal: Diary Tracker.
This Privacy Policy explains how Mood Journal collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the application.
Mood Journal does not require account registration and does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, home address, or contact list.

Journal titles and entries
Selected moods and emotional records
Tags and favorite entries
Journal dates and writing streaks
Reminder preferences
App theme and language preferences
App lock and security preferences
This information is stored locally on your device using an on-device database.
We do not upload your journal entries, moods, tags, PIN, or personal notes to our servers.
If you choose to export a journal backup, the exported file is saved or shared only through the location or application selected by you. Imported backup files are processed to restore your journal information on your device.
The app uses third-party services that may automatically collect limited technical, analytics, advertising, and diagnostic information.
Depending on the service and your consent settings, this information may include:
Device type, model, operating system, and app version
App interactions and usage events
Approximate location derived from an IP address
Device or app installation identifiers
Advertising identifiers, such as the Google Advertising ID
Ad impressions, clicks, and advertising performance information
General diagnostic and performance information
Consent choices related to advertising
This information is used to understand app usage, provide app functionality, improve performance, manage advertising, and prevent fraud or abuse.
Mood Journal uses Android Room Database to store journal entries, moods, tags, settings, statistics, and related information locally on your device.
Sensitive app preferences may be protected using Android security and encryption features.
Your journal content is not intentionally transmitted to Firebase Analytics, Firebase Remote Config, Google AdMob, or our servers.
Removing the app or clearing its application data may permanently delete locally stored journal information unless you have previously created a backup.
Mood Journal uses the following Google Firebase services:
Firebase Analytics helps us understand how users interact with the app, such as app opens, screen usage, and feature interactions.
Analytics information may include device information, app interaction events, installation identifiers, and approximate geographic information.
Journal text, diary titles, PIN codes, voice recordings, and personally written content are not intentionally sent as Analytics events.

Firebase Remote Config allows us to remotely manage certain app settings and features, such as advertising availability, ad unit configuration, and feature behaviour, without requiring a new app update.
Remote Config may use an app installation identifier and technical device information to provide the appropriate configuration.
Mood Journal may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob and its advertising partners.
Advertising services may collect or process:
Google Advertising ID
Device and app information
IP address and approximate location
Ad impressions and interactions
Diagnostic information
Information used to prevent advertising fraud
Depending on your region and consent choice, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized.
The app uses the Google User Messaging Platform to request and manage advertising consent where required. You may be able to update or withdraw your consent through the privacy options provided inside the app or through your device settings.

Mood Journal may request microphone access if you use the voice writing or speech input feature.
Microphone access is used only after you start a voice input feature. The app does not continuously listen to your microphone.
We do not intentionally store or upload raw microphone recordings to our servers.
Voice input may be processed by the speech recognition service installed or selected on your device. Depending on your device and speech service settings, audio may be processed locally or transmitted to the applicable speech service provider. The processing of that information is governed by the privacy policy of the selected speech service provider.
You may deny microphone permission and continue using the normal text-writing features of the app.
Mood Journal may use biometric authentication, such as fingerprint authentication, to protect access to your journal.
Biometric verification is performed securely by the Android operating system. Mood Journal does not receive, collect, store, or transmit your fingerprint image or biometric template.
The app receives only the authentication result provided by Android, such as whether authentication succeeded or failed.
If you use a PIN for App Lock, the app stores the required security information locally using available Android security features. We do not transmit your PIN to our servers.
The app may send local notifications for:
Daily journal reminders
User-scheduled writing reminders
Important app-related information generated locally
Notification permission is requested on supported Android versions.
You can disable notifications or change reminder preferences at any time through the app or your device settings.
If enabled, reminders may be restored after the device is restarted.
Mood Journal does not currently use Firebase Cloud Messaging to collect a notification token or deliver server-based push notifications.
The app may request the following Android permissions:
Used to:
Load and display advertisements
Connect to Firebase Analytics
Retrieve Firebase Remote Config settings
Display consent information through the User Messaging Platform
Used to display daily journal and writing reminder notifications on supported Android versions.
Used only when necessary to restore scheduled journal reminders after the device has been restarted.
May be used to deliver a user-selected reminder at a specific time.
Users can control exact alarm access through Android system settings on supported devices.
Used to authenticate users with device-supported biometric authentication when App Lock is enabled.
Used only for compatibility with fingerprint authentication on older supported Android versions.
Used only when the user activates voice writing or speech input.
The app does not request access to contacts, phone calls, SMS messages, camera, precise GPS location, or general device storage through these permissions.
We do not sell your journal entries, mood records, personal notes, PIN, or other personally written content.
Limited technical, analytics, consent, and advertising information may be processed by trusted service providers, including:
Google Firebase Analytics
Google Firebase Remote Config
Google AdMob
Google User Messaging Platform

These providers process information according to their respective terms and privacy policies.
Journal entries, mood records, tags, reminders, and settings remain stored locally on your device until you:
Delete individual entries
Clear the app’s data
Uninstall the app
Replace or remove the local database
You are responsible for keeping any exported journal backup secure.
Analytics and advertising information collected by third-party providers is retained according to their respective privacy policies and retention settings.
If you uninstall the app without creating a backup, locally stored journal information may not be recoverable.
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app.
Mood Journal uses local storage, Android security features, optional App Lock, PIN protection, biometric authentication, and available encryption features to help protect journal information.
However, no electronic storage, device, or internet transmission method is completely secure. You should keep your device lock and journal backup files secure.
Mood Journal is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
Mood Journal is intended for personal journaling, mood tracking, self-reflection, and general wellbeing purposes only.
The app does not provide medical advice, professional mental health advice, diagnosis, treatment, counselling, or emergency services.
Information shown by mood charts, statistics, writing streaks, or journal history should not be considered a medical assessment.
