Monty Hub began when a passionate group of locals banded together to create a shared community space. It is a place for everyone in the community to create, meet and connect in a safe and welcoming environment.
We are open every Tuesday 9:30am-1pm, Wednesday 12-4pm and Thursday 9:30am-1pm so come and visit us at Monty Community Hub. We are located in Petrie Park, 16 Mountain View Road, adjacent to Petrie Park Community Hall, Montmorency.

Two local Monty gardeners invite you to share their different experiences and gardening journeys. Julie’s and David’s small garden in Station Road has evolved over 30 years, using organic gardening and permaculture principles to improve the site. It has settled into a happy mix of fruit trees, a productive veggie patch, flowering perennials and native plants. She will talk about worm farming and composting, and how to attract beneficial insects.
Emma’s and Andrew’s larger garden* is also a mix of food plants, perennials and native plants. Emma won the student garden section at the 2022 Melbourne International Flower and Gardening Show. She will talk about zoning, working with slopes and creating garden rooms, as well as her wicking beds and the use of chickens in a food garden. Emma will also provide notes on her favourite plant species and what she has found works, and doesn’t work, in her particular patch.
*Please note that there are some steps without guard rails at Emma’s garden and there will be a five minute walk from Julie’s garden to Emma’s garden.
