"From South Africa to Haiti, Italy, Germany or Indonesia; Montblanc EXPLORER invites explorers on a fantastic journey, giving them the opportunity to discover the rarest ingredients and manufacturing methods that combine craftsmanship with the latest technology."

The composition is made by three Givaudan perfumers: Jordi Fernandez, Antoine Maisondieu and Olivier Pescheux. Each of them gave his knowledge and emotional experiences about a particular ingredient. The fragrance is announced as a unique woody-aromatic-leather concoction that combines essences of bergamot from Italy, vetiver from Haiti and patchouli from Indonesia.

I have gone through 2 bottles of aventus and I have aventus absolu , obviously these two have better naturals than mantblanc but only a seasoned nose will be able to tell. I sprayed mantblanc on a strip out of curiosity while shopping and I put my hand in my pocket two days later and found the strip so I put it to my nose and it was still the same as the first spray. I think that really tells a story. I also use aventus shower gel to get the whole experience when wearing aventus so I think I have good knowledge about aventus and I have to say I struggle to tell them apart. You may need a few more sprays of mantblanc but the very fact you can buy nearly 4 bottles for the price of 1 creed I'm starting to think why buy creed !

Undoubtedly inspired by Creed Aventus, which makes it affordable alternative to it. From initial spray to first couple hours the difference is negligible between two colognes. In the dry down the differences take shape, moncblanc has more of a peppery undertone, while creed stays linear and fruity. Exilently priced cologne for the scent you are getting, its more refined and higher quality than other Creed's alternatives such as CDNM( smells like toilet cleaner ) and L'Aventure Al Haramain that has its own twist on the DNA. Overall if you are looking for Aventus type of a scent, this is it. Scent 8/10, longevity 6/10, projection 5/10.

oh my dear explorer, where do i even begin? from the second i tried you i knew i needed you. The beautiful smell of citrus and berries, down to the deep woods made me fall in love. creed aventus walked so you could run.

will you marry me?

8/10

Initial blast is Aventus, drydown peppery citrus. Base mostly patchouli. Ignore the brand saboteurs on longevity! One tiny squirt from a sample seven hours ago and it's still going. I like it. Nice masculine fragrance alternative to Aventus.

This is an Aventus inspired fragrance and you can smell the quality of ingredients on this. The opening is the best part in my opinion, yes it smells lemony but it blends very well with the background woods, leather and smoke, then after an hour or so I just smell ambroxan from it, it's like all those magical smokey woods disappear and only the ambroxan stays, which is not a good thing in my opinion since I don't find the ambroxan note that enjoyable. Overall is a good fragrance with decent longevity and sillage, can be worn by anyone at anytime and never be out of place because the Aventus DNA gives it that classy feeling.

As someone that has Sauvage EDT,EDP and has tried multiple times luna rossa carbon. The base of this is insanely similar to sauvage but does not project and is alot weaker unless im nose blind. Smells great and smells refined its pretty much sauvage without the sweet notes/metalic but same ambroxan like base. If you can get this at a discounter this is a great great addition but would not pay full retail due to performance/projection, its almost like they need an EDP version of the exact same scent or something then it would be my top 3.

Still probably cheaper buying a bottle of this and spraying it every 3 hours than buying adventus and spraying it once per day

Longevity/projection 6/10

Smell 8.5/10

If you like sauvage for half the price 10/10

Today, I trigger a full bottle after had a CDNI and tested Aventus, Absolu Aventus. Absolu Aventus is too sweet and a dry down is almost similar with Mont Explorer and Sauvage Elixir, CDNI is abit synthetic when Aventus recent batch last about 5 min. I tested Aventus at Creed store, It quite weak then Mont Explorer is a best choice.

Like CDNIM but less headache inducing. If you cannae stand that one because of the burning tyre/lemon cleaning spray accord, but have a need for creed then this is the one, it is calmer, more blended, less screechy, synthetic, but not ridiculous.

If you plan to Aventus on a budget this is my recommendation in lieu if CDNIM Go for 1/4th of the price not 1/10th, Or perhaps get both, and do a 50/50 spray of each and the CDNIM beast will be slightly less feral, as the Explorer kind of 'takes the corners' off it.

As many reviewers have pointed out, it's advisable not to invest in this fragrance. While it may resemble Aventus to some extent, it falls short in performance. Coming from a reputable house, it's disappointing that this fragrance is so weak. Don't even expect it to last for hours; it disappears within minutes. Imagine the disappointment of not catching any scent except for a faint whiff of ambroxan. Consider this a warning: it's a complete waste of money. If you're like me and want to avoid spending a fortune on Aventus but still want that similar aroma, go for CDNIM. However, even CDNIM falls short; there are far better fresh scents available, as it's quite dull and exceedingly common

I have gotten this fragrance as a gift, I myself would never buy this. It in beginning smells like lemon cleanser same like club de nuit and it smells almost the same. I would rather get club de nuit than this, it retails for around 80-100$ and for the price it isnt worth it. I dont like the smell overall and its performance is bad.

As a woman, I find it delightful to smell a masculine fragrance with a perfectly balanced bergamot note. While some describe this perfume's opening as harsh, to me it achieves a lovely balance between sharp and light. That opening has a personality of its own. The harmony between leather and pink pepper is wonderful, and the touch of sage adds a delightful green note. The drydown is woodsy and sweet.

Open like Aventus, a little harsh from CDNI. After a moment, leather scent will appear and will stay light with base note. Base note like Absolu Aventus or Sauvage Elixir. Maybe this note is Ambroxan scent, I still not know exact about Ambroxan note. Overall, this one is a gem. Cop for yourself fast before they watered it.

An incredible clone of Creed Aventus. On the dry-down it smells almost the exact same. Something which I don't see talked about enough is how harsh the opening spray is, its smells so horrible upon opening and it just gives me headaches, but after this it smells amazing. Shame about how for me it seems to disappear after only a couple of hours.

An approachable, affordable alternative to Aventus. It captures about 80% of that DNA, but if it's missing anything it's the smoky birch. That makes this a bit thinner and and not as deep. Additionally while the opening comes close to the Aventus pineapple POP, it doesn't quite get there. But for the price, it does a solid job.

Pretty nice smell. Smells absolutely F&-K all like Aventus so I dunno where the hell that came from. It's amazing how people will smell citrus and immediately say "smells like Aventus!!" It doesn't even have pineapple in it! And it's definitely not smokey. Decent for what you get, I wouldn't say for the price as all these pricks who have called it an Aventus clone have succeeded in getting the price jacked up because of it. This should cost no more than $80 but I see it in some places for $150 which is insane for a Month Blanc frag. If you wanna get Aventus, just save up and get Aventus, instead of spending the same amount of money if not more on ones you think are going to smell like it but don't. And don't even dare say Armaf Club de unit smells like it either......that crap smells like vinegar and lemon pledge!!!! Anyhoo, this is not bad. Not amazing but not bad.

This was my first signature scent and my introduction to the hobby. It has a lot of sentimental value for me, and I'll probably always own a bottle.

It's not without its flaws (quite synthetic-smelling with a pretty flat dry-down), but it's a great everyday scent that's fairly priced, mass-appealing and incredibly versatile.

Love the bottle/atomiser too.

For the price, this is an amazing fragrance. Woody, citrusy and very masculine. It's a very nice, very safe smell. My biggest problem with it though, is the fact that it's an Ambroxan bomb. Not only does the Ambroxan overpower all the other notes, it also tends to make the wearer go noseblind very quickly. The projection and silage is pretty good but you won't be able to tell because you'll stop being able to smell it after 5 minutes. And if you can't smell it on yourself, what's the point?

I wear scents so I smell good to others but also so I smell good to myself. And when I smell good, I feel good. I feel confident and attractive. When I'm wearing MontBlanc Explorer, I just can't smell it on myself despite other people telling me that I smell really good.

Overall, it's good, very good, but the noseblind issue is just too big of a hurdle for me to jump. If you don't care about not being able to smell it on yourself, or if you're lucky and you don't go noseblind to it, then it's a ten out of ten fragrance. 152ee80cbc
