If you want a versatile, all-day companion for running and outdoor sports that doubles as a capable swimmer with Bluetooth freedom, choose Monster Open Ear BC300; if you need a dedicated, lightweight underwater audio solution specifically optimized for lap swimming with extensive file management, choose SAMVEK Swimming Headphones. This isn't about which one sounds "better" in a vacuum; it is about matching the right tool to your specific routine, whether you are a DJ needing ambient awareness on the track or an athlete diving deep into the pool.
• Monster Open Ear BC300: Its biggest strength is the seamless blend of Bluetooth 6.0 stability and IPX8 waterproofing, allowing you to stream music while swimming without losing connection when you surface. The trade-off is a slightly bulkier design compared to pure MP3 players, and the lack of active noise cancellation means you hear everything around you.
• SAMVEK Swimming Headphones: Its biggest strength is its ultra-lightweight 30-gram build and robust 32GB storage designed for massive offline libraries, making it feel almost invisible while submerged. The trade-off is the reliance on manual file transfer via computer rather than wireless streaming, and a shorter battery life of 8 hours compared to the Monster's 10-hour capacity.
• Who is this for?: The Monster is for the active lifestyle enthusiast who switches between land and water daily, while the SAMVEK is for the serious swimmer who prioritizes pure performance and zero weight in the water.
The Monster Open Ear BC300 is engineered for the person who refuses to compromise between their terrestrial workouts and their aquatic sessions. If you are looking for best sports earbuds for dj scenarios where situational awareness is non-negotiable, this device shines because of its open-ear architecture. By resting outside the ear canal, it allows sound to travel through your cheekbones while keeping your ears completely open to traffic, conversations, and gym chatter. This is not just a feature; it is a safety mechanism that prevents isolation during high-speed runs or busy cycling routes.
What truly sets this apart from standard bone conduction headphones is the integration of advanced Bluetooth 6.0 technology paired with a 10-hour battery life. Most competitors force you to choose between wireless convenience and waterproof durability, but the Monster delivers both simultaneously. You can stream music directly from your phone while jogging, then dive into a pool without removing the device. The IPX8 rating confirms it can withstand heavy sweat, rain, and even temporary submersion up to two meters for two hours. This makes it an ideal candidate for those who train in all weather conditions and expect their gear to keep up without interruption.
However, you should skip this model if your primary focus is strictly competitive lap swimming where every gram counts. While it is waterproof enough to handle the water, the design is slightly more substantial than dedicated swim headphones. Additionally, if you are searching for best noise cancelling clip on earbuds for dj, you will find none here. The Monster relies on passive openness rather than active noise suppression. There is no app-based noise control, and the open-ear design inherently lets ambient sound in. But for the generalist athlete who values connectivity and safety over absolute silence, the Monster offers a compelling balance of features that few other devices match.

The SAMVEK Swimming Headphones is a purpose-built machine for the swimmer who treats the pool like a second home. Its defining characteristic is its obsession with weight reduction and offline reliability. At only 30 grams, these headphones are among the lightest options available, ensuring they sit comfortably under a swimming cap and goggles without causing pressure points or dragging down your head. For a DJ or any user who needs noise cancelling on ear headphones for dj contexts where total immersion in the rhythm is required, the SAMVEK offers a focused experience. The open-ear design ensures you stay aware of your surroundings, but the sheer lightness minimizes the feeling of wearing anything at all.
The real power of the SAMVEK lies in its massive 32GB internal memory, which supports a staggering array of audio formats including MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, and FLAC. Unlike the Monster, which streams wirelessly, the SAMVEK functions as a standalone MP3 player when you are underwater. Since Bluetooth signals do not penetrate water effectively, switching to MP3 mode is essential for a continuous listening experience below the surface. You simply drag and drop your favorite tracks from your computer onto the device, creating a personal library of up to 8,000 songs. This eliminates the need to carry a phone into the locker room or worry about signal loss mid-lap.
That said, this device requires a different workflow. You cannot stream live music wirelessly while swimming; you must pre-load your playlist. If you prefer the convenience of instant playback from your phone without a computer transfer step, the SAMVEK might feel like extra work. Furthermore, the battery life sits at 8 hours, which is respectable but trails behind the Monster's 10-hour capability. However, for the dedicated swimmer who spends hours in the water and wants a device that feels like an extension of their body rather than an accessory, the SAMVEK's streamlined design and robust storage make it the superior choice. It is built for the long haul, offering a simple button interface that handles play, pause, and track skipping without the complexity of smartphone pairing.
• Best for Battery Life → Monster Open Ear BC300: With a claimed 10-hour average life versus the SAMVEK's 8 hours, the Monster lasts longer for extended outdoor marathons or all-day events.
• Best for Underwater Streaming Flexibility → Monster Open Ear BC300: It supports Bluetooth 6.0, allowing you to switch modes easily, whereas the SAMVEK requires a manual switch to MP3 mode for underwater use.
• Best for Weight and Comfort in Water → SAMVEK Swimming Headphones: At 30 grams, the SAMVEK is significantly lighter, reducing fatigue during long swimming sessions.
• Best for File Management and Format Support → SAMVEK Swimming Headphones: It explicitly supports APE and FLAC formats alongside standard MP3s, catering to audiophiles who need high-resolution offline files.
• Best for Connectivity Range → SAMVEK Swimming Headphones: It boasts a maximum Bluetooth range of 33 feet (10 meters), providing ample distance for phone placement during land-based workouts.
• Best for Durability in All Conditions → Monster Open Ear BC300: Both are waterproof, but the Monster's silicone enclosure and explicit 2-hour submersion claim offer a robust guarantee for intense training environments.
• Best for Ease of Use → SAMVEK Swimming Headphones: The multi-function button design simplifies operation, requiring fewer steps to manage tracks compared to app-dependent controls.
• Best for DJ Ambient Awareness → Monster Open Ear BC300: The combination of open-ear design and stable Bluetooth makes it easier to monitor surroundings while mixing or performing outdoors.
In my opinion, I would buy the Monster Open Ear BC300 for my own daily routine. As someone who values versatility above all else, the ability to seamlessly transition from a run to a swim without changing gear is unbeatable. The 10-hour battery life gives me peace of mind during long days, and the Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity ensures I never lose my place in a playlist. While the SAMVEK is an excellent specialized tool for swimmers, the Monster's broader utility makes it the better choice for anyone who lives an active, multi-faceted lifestyle. For a DJ needing reliable audio that keeps them connected to the world while delivering sound, the Monster strikes the perfect balance.
Both models feature open-ear designs that prioritize situational awareness, making them suitable for DJs who need to hear their surroundings. However, neither offers active noise cancellation, so they rely on volume and bone conduction clarity rather than blocking out external noise.
Both the Monster Open Ear BC300 and the SAMVEK Swimming Headphones come equipped with 32GB of built-in memory. This capacity allows you to store thousands of songs, enabling true wireless listening without needing a phone nearby.
No, Bluetooth signals do not travel well through water. Both devices require you to switch to MP3 mode using their internal storage for underwater listening, although the Monster's Bluetooth connectivity remains useful immediately upon surfacing.
The SAMVEK Swimming Headphones weigh only 30 grams, making them significantly lighter than the Monster. For extended periods in the water, this reduced weight minimizes drag and discomfort, making them the preferred choice for serious swimmers.
