If you want a reliable, high-fidelity audio experience with Bluetooth 5.4 stability and a compact form factor for daily use, choose Monster Open AC601; if you need extended battery life that can be instantly refreshed without waiting for a cable, choose ROEL-PLAY Open Ear. This decision isn't about which brand is louder or cheaper; it is entirely about how you intend to use a bluetooth headset for jogging and what kind of power anxiety you are willing to tolerate on the trail.
• Monster Open AC601: Delivers robust Hi-Fi sound with 13mm PVK drivers and Bluetooth 5.4, but offers a fixed 32-hour total battery life with no quick-swap options. Best for runners who prioritize audio fidelity and a secure, lightweight clip-on fit over ultra-long endurance.
• ROEL-PLAY Open Ear: Features a revolutionary magnetic swappable battery system for up to 120 hours of playtime and Bluetooth 6.0, but uses a larger hook design that may feel bulkier than standard buds. Best for marathoners, long-distance hikers, or travelers who need uninterrupted music and hate charging cables.
The Monster Open AC601 is designed for the listener who wants a premium auditory experience without sacrificing situational awareness. At the heart of these earbuds is a 13mm PVK composite sound film driver, which pushes out a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. This isn't just about volume; it is about clarity. The dynamic driver technology creates a vibrant, high-fidelity sound profile that feels immersive, almost like being in a live concert hall, even while your ears remain open to the world. If you are someone who listens to complex tracks with deep bass and crisp treble, this specific tuning ensures you get that full spectrum without the isolation of traditional in-ear models.
For the active user, the IPX5 waterproof rating is a non-negotiable feature. Whether you are caught in a sudden downpour during an early morning run or pushing through a heavy sweat session at the gym, the internal components are safeguarded against water splashes and perspiration. The touch controls are responsive enough to manage calls and track changes without breaking your stride, and the clip-on design ensures they stay locked in place. The Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity further enhances this by offering a stable link with low latency, meaning your audio stays perfectly synchronized with video content or fast-paced gaming sessions.

However, this product has a clear limitation regarding power. While the total battery life reaches 32 hours when including the charging case, once those batteries are depleted, you must plug them in. There is no mechanism to swap out a dead battery instantly. If you are planning a multi-day hiking trip or a back-to-back training week where you forget to charge your case overnight, you will be stuck with silence until you find a power source. Additionally, the ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) works well for calls, though compatibility issues have been noted on some less common phone models, so users should ensure their device pairs smoothly before committing to a purchase. This model is ideal for the jogger who runs for an hour or two, values sound quality above all else, and maintains a consistent charging routine.
The ROEL-PLAY Open Ear targets a very specific demographic: the endurance athlete or the frequent traveler who views battery anxiety as a dealbreaker. Its most defining feature is the industry-first magnetic detachable battery design. You can swap a spare battery in just three seconds to restore full power instantly. With two batteries included, the comprehensive working time hits 60 hours, and with additional spare batteries, you can theoretically extend that to 120 hours. This means you could potentially go weeks without ever needing to plug the case into a wall outlet. The charging case itself includes an LED digital screen, allowing you to see the exact power percentage of both the earbuds and the case at a glance, removing any guesswork from your daily routine.
In terms of audio performance, this model leans heavily into advanced acoustic engineering. It utilizes AF Beamforming technology combined with reverse sound wave cancellation to create concentrated sound beams that travel directly into the ear canal. This solves one of the biggest complaints about open-ear headphones: sound leakage. Even at higher volumes, people around you won't hear your music, protecting your privacy in public spaces. The titanium-coated dome speaker supports AptX and AAC lossless decoding, delivering a Dolby panoramic 360° spatial surround sound that rivals much more expensive closed-ear models. For the runner who needs the best volume limiting open ear earbuds for jogging to keep hearing traffic while enjoying rich, detailed audio, this is a significant advantage.
The physical design also caters to long-duration wear. The "Cloud Soft Silicone Hook" is made of skin-friendly liquid silicone and features a rotatable adjustable fit that accommodates all ear shapes using a golden triangle stable support structure. This ergonomic design ensures zero-pressure wear, meaning you won't feel swelling or soreness after hours of use. The Bluetooth 6.0 chip provides an ultra-stable connection with low latency, supporting seamless dual-device switching between a phone and a laptop. While the IPX5 rating matches the Monster for sweat resistance, the primary draw here is the sheer longevity and the ability to keep moving without interruption. This pick is for the person who runs marathons, cycles for miles, or travels internationally and refuses to carry a charger.

If I were buying a bluetooth headset for jogging today, I would choose the ROEL-PLAY Open Ear. The ability to swap batteries instantly removes the single biggest stressor of outdoor exercise: the fear of the music stopping mid-run. While the Monster Open AC601 offers excellent sound and a sleeker profile, its fixed battery life is a hard ceiling that limits its utility for serious athletes. The ROEL-PLAY's inclusion of Bluetooth 6.0 and superior anti-leakage technology also makes it a more future-proof investment for anyone who cares about audio privacy and connection stability. For the best volume limiting open ear earbuds for jogging that guarantees you never run out of power, the ROEL-PLAY is the clear winner.
Both models hold an IPX5 rating, meaning they are certified to resist heavy sweat and light rain, making them suitable for intense workouts and outdoor running conditions.
The ROEL-PLAY Open Ear uses specific AF Beamforming and reverse sound wave cancellation technology to minimize leakage significantly, whereas the Monster relies on standard open-ear acoustics which may leak slightly more at high volumes.
The Monster Open AC601 offers a total of 32 hours including the case, while the ROEL-PLAY Open Ear starts at 60 hours and can be expanded to 120 hours using its magnetic swappable battery system.
Both feature ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation), but the ROEL-PLAY includes AI noise reduction specifically tuned to filter background chatter and wind, offering a slight edge in noisy urban environments.
