Two Weeks in Kuttikkanam with Tiffany 🇺🇸
Tiffany, our guest from the USA, spent two wonderful weeks with us at Monsoon Mist, taking her time to discover Kuttikkanam and some of the experiences waiting beyond our doorstep.
During her stay, she explored the local area, discovered our nearby secret waterfall, completed ayurvedic treatments at our local centre, took in the views from Elappara, and joined us in Thekkady for an evening of Kathakali and traditional martial arts.
There were quieter moments too, an afternoon walk to a nearby chaya kada for chai, followed by a peaceful afternoon beside the pool at Monsoon Mist.
We loved sharing a little of our Kerala with Tiffany, and we look forward to welcoming her back when she returns to this beautiful part of the world next year. 🌿

From Oman to Kerala for Onam 🌼
Over Onam, we were delighted to welcome a wonderful family from Oman to Monsoon Mist. It was especially special to share this beautiful time of year in Kerala with a family experiencing the celebrations together.
Before they left, we sat down with the head of the family to hear about their time in Kerala and their stay with us. His answer was wonderfully enthusiastic, from the beauty and experiences of Kerala to his time at Monsoon Mist.
Perhaps the best compliment came at the end: he told us he hopes to bring his family back next year and every year after. ❤️
Celebrating Onam at Monsoon Mist 🌼
Onam is a special time in Kerala. It is a celebration of family, tradition, food and togetherness. This year at Monsoon Mist, we made our own little pookalam (flower carpet), lit the traditional oil lamps and enjoyed a beautiful Onam sadya together.
We're always grateful to experience these traditions as part of everyday life in Kerala, and to share a little piece of them with our guests and friends.

Explore tea plantations, mountain viewpoints, pine forests, waterfalls and peaceful countryside, or venture further into Idukki towards Vagamon and Thekkady. From Australia to the Hills of Kerala
Monsoon Mist is more than a place to stay, it's part of our life in Kerala. Jess is Australian and Fibin is from Kerala, and after meeting in Australia we eventually made our home in the hills of Kuttikkanam. We love sharing this beautiful part of Idukki with our guests and helping visitors discover the food, culture, landscapes and experiences that make Kerala special.
Slow Down at Monsoon Mist
Sometimes the best part of a holiday is having nowhere you need to be. Take a morning swim, enjoy a cup of tea overlooking the hills, spend an afternoon exploring Kuttikkanam or simply settle into your own private apartment and watch the mist roll through the mountains.
