Celebrating Onam at Monsoon Mist 🌼
Onam is a special time in Kerala. It is a celebration of family, tradition, food and togetherness. This year at Monsoon Mist, we made our own little pookalam (flower carpet), lit the traditional oil lamps and enjoyed a beautiful Onam sadya together.
We're always grateful to experience these traditions as part of everyday life in Kerala, and to share a little piece of them with our guests and friends.

Wake up in the Western Ghats
Misty mornings, birdsong and cool mountain air are part of everyday life at Monsoon Mist. Set among the tea plantations and hills of Kuttikkanam, our apartments are a peaceful place to slow down, relax and enjoy the beauty of Kerala's Western Ghats.

Kuttikkanam is a beautiful hill station with plenty to discover beyond the usual tourist trail. Explore tea plantations, mountain viewpoints, pine forests, waterfalls and peaceful countryside, or venture further into Idukki towards Vagamon and Thekkady. From Australia to the Hills of Kerala
Monsoon Mist is more than a place to stay, it's part of our life in Kerala. Jess is Australian and Fibin is from Kerala, and after meeting in Australia we eventually made our home in the hills of Kuttikkanam. We love sharing this beautiful part of Idukki with our guests and helping visitors discover the food, culture, landscapes and experiences that make Kerala special.
Slow Down at Monsoon Mist
Sometimes the best part of a holiday is having nowhere you need to be. Take a morning swim, enjoy a cup of tea overlooking the hills, spend an afternoon exploring Kuttikkanam or simply settle into your own private apartment and watch the mist roll through the mountains. Monsoon Mist is made for slowing down.
