Our Purpose

Monona Anti-Racism Circles -- Monona ARC -- is gathering groups of neighbors in Monona for a six-week series of conversations about anti-racism.

We hope to create:

What to Expect

ARC hosts weekly gatherings for six weeks, known as a "circle". Each circle includes two facilitators. Each week explores a different topic. Over the course of six weeks, we will discuss racism as a system, whiteness as an identity, white privilege and fragility, and touch on topics from housing to education to policing. As much as possible, we will center and ground our exploration of these topics as they affect and shape our community life here in Monona.

"I didn't quite know what to expect, but was very happy with the program. I think it's a great format... and very informative. As I mentioned, the small groups were great and I was so glad to meet new people from Monona."

Our Mission

Cultivate an anti-racist community so that all residents in Monona flourish and for all to feel accepted.
