IntroductionOn May 19th, the annual MRHS Spring Concert was put on, and the talent showcased by the band and choir students completely blew all expectations. Between the impressive tracklist, stunning solos, and flawless group performances, the night was nothing short of amazing. Here’s a full breakdown of the show. ChorusThis year’s chorus brought fresh energy with standout solos from Alexis Arruda, Julia Morgan, Leyla Holmes, Emory Hines, and Britanya Bucknor. Their renditions of Crowded Table, God Will Give Orders/Sweet Child, and Praise His Holy Name created a captivating sonic journey. The entire choir delivered a harmonious blend of haunting and ethereal sounds—a must-hear experience. Concert BandThe concert band kept the momentum high with thrilling performances of How To Train Your Dragon, Earth Dance, and I Want You Back. Students like Thomas Marchio, Benjamin McGrath, and Simon MacBride wowed with impressive solos. The band’s joy was infectious, filling the MRHS auditorium with applause and excitement. Jazz BandThe jazz band closed with a sensational set featuring Tourist Season, Li'l Darlin', and Mercy, Mercy, Mercy, including original pieces from Wayne Naus. Soloists from the concert band—Marchio, McGrath, and MacBride—shone again, alongside saxophonists Michael and Abby Considine. The performance was a 30-minute masterpiece of rich brass, tight rhythms, and stellar sounds. ConclusionReflecting on this concert and past events like the Pops and Winter Concerts, it’s clear MRHS students have delivered joy and excellence all year. Their dedication transforms months of practice into unforgettable moments. I can’t wait for next year’s performances—you shouldn’t miss them either.
