The total monthly costs for operating the Monmouth Prayer Room is approximately $1,000: rent, supplies and furnishing. It is essentially a not-for-profit model, with all administrative and support roles being strictly volunteer based. All surplus income would first be set aside in a Rainy Day Fund for months with less support. Additional funds would then be utilized to make the Prayer Room and its events more accommodating, hospitable, and functional. If there is still an excess of surplus funds, the Admin team will discuss and pray about how to best apply these funds to our community.
Currently, we are operating at a deficit, with monthly contributions being less than our basic expenses. It is thanks to the generous support of a few lumpsum donations that we are able to continue operating. Our long term goal is to expand access and expand support -- to let many hands make light work.
Would you prayerfully consider financially supporting our mission with a recurring monthly or one-time donation? If so, thank you, and please follow the link below.
All of our furniture, decorations, sound equipment and food/drink have been generously donated. These items help create a comfortable, relaxing and hospitable space for people to meet with the Lord, individually or in blessed fellowship.
We are currently hoping to add the following items to the Prayer Room:
A coffee/tea station or hutch, along with the complementary components (first room, left of door to main Prayer Room).
A long bar table with comfortable chairs for studying and journaling. Alternatively, two small cafe tables for people to meet or study Scripture together (first room, against the windows).
Two accent/reading chairs, complementing end-tables, and industrial style lamps for reading or meeting one-on-one (first room, against wall with wicker basket display; to replace the small couch that is currently in the room).
More all-age, low-mess toys, crafts and resources for the kids-corner; more storage options; wall mounted magnet-/chalk-/white-board(s) and accommodating supplies; et cetera.
We are always in need of more disposable supplies. Once again, these items help create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for our guests.
Coffee (K-cups), tea, cups, and complementary additives or supplies.
Tissue boxes, paper towels, toilet paper.
Cleaning supplies for the Prayer Room and Restrooms.
