Veteran translators from the Monkey Business journal and writers will visit a Translation Studies course at Pitt to discuss challenges of translation in Japanese, English, Italian, and perhaps other languages. Students will find out how Dante’s Italian classic Inferno became a graphic novel, reimagined by the British poet John Agard and the Japanese illustrator Satoshi Kitamura.
