This Privacy Policy describes how Monk Mode ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information, and what choices you have with respect to the information.

## 1. Data Collection and Usage

Monk Mode is designed with privacy as a priority. The extension operates primarily on your local device.

### A. Browsing Activity (URLs)

To function as a website blocker, Monk Mode needs to detect the URL of the website you are currently visiting.

*   **How it works:** The extension checks the hostname of the active tab against your local list of blocked apps and custom sites.

*   **Data Privacy:** This process happens entirely **locally** on your browser. We **do not** collect, store, transmit, or share your browsing history or visited URLs with any external servers. Your browsing habits remain private to you.

### B. Personal Information (Premium Features)

If you purchase a Premium License, we collect specific information to verify your purchase:

*   **License Key:** We store the license key you enter localy in your browser's storage.

*   **Verification:** When you verify your key, the extension sends the key to **Gumroad** (our payment provider) via their API to validate its status.

*   **Email:** Upon successful verification, we may locally save the email address associated with the license to display your status. This data is stored locally via `chrome.storage` and is not sent to us.

## 2. Permissions

Monk Mode requests specific permissions to function correctly:

*   **"Read and change all your data on the websites you visit" (`<all_urls>`):** This permission is strictly required to detect if a website matches your blocklist and to inject the "Touch Grass" blocking screen. We do not modify website content for any other purpose.

*   **Storage:** Used to save your settings, schedules, stats, and premium status locally.

*   **Alarms:** Used to manage timers and scheduled blocking sessions.

*   **Notifications:** Used to alert you when sessions end or limits are reached.

## 3. Third-Party Services

We use **Gumroad** to handle payments and license management. Use of your personal payment information is governed by Gumroad's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your credit card details.

## 4. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. Since Monk Mode stores data locally on your device (using Chrome's storage API), your data is as secure as your personal computer and browser profile.
