To provide its core functionality—calculating accurate taxi fares based on distance and speed—Monitok accesses and collects your device's precise location data.
Background Location: This app collects location data to enable fare calculation and trip tracking even when the app is closed or not in use (running in the background). This ensures the meter remains accurate if you switch to a navigation app (like Waze) or turn off your screen during a trip.
Essential Use: This background access is essential for the core functionality of the app. Without it, the taxi meter cannot function continuously.
Storage & Sharing: All location data is processed locally on your device. We do not store your location on our servers, and we do not share your location data with any third parties.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information locally on your device.
Since Monitok processes data locally and does not store personal information on remote servers, there is no account data to delete. To stop all data collection, simply end the active trip within the app or uninstall the application.
