Co-Director; September 2024-present
From student to co-director, participating in Engage developed my science communication muscles. As a co-director, I represent Engage at science communication conferences by presenting short talks and/or workshops. I presented "Engage: A Model for Multidisciplinary Science Communication Training" at Sci Talk '25.

Neuroscience Community Outreach Group
Officer; June 2023-present
I co-lead a graduate student-led outreach group that brings neuroscience to the greater Seattle area at conventions, STEM nights, and beyond. My team and I brought back the first annual Brain Awareness Week event since the pandemic for local high school students to learn from UW neuroscientists, with funding from Research!America’s microgrant program.
Evening with Neuroscience; Grey Matters
Graduate Neurotechnology Pre-Panelist; 2023-2024
The undergraduate neuroscience group, Grey Matters, hosts an incredible outreach night to the public every year. As a graduate student at UW, I've presented at this event to open up people's eyes to the range of technology used in neuroscience research by walking through a unique machine used to study neurotrauma in animal models.

UW FEEDBACK (Fostering Educational Excitement Designed for Bold and Academically Curious Kids)
I facilitate interactive demonstrations using Backyard Brains equipment and lead educational presentations for Toppenish School District students to discuss the scientific basis of and ethical considerations for neurotechnology and current topics in neuroscience research.
UW Brain Awareness Week Speakers Bureau
I design and facilitate virtual, interactive, and educational presentations on current neuroscience topics including neurotrauma, memory, and the gut-brain axis to schools nationwide.
Husky Science Communication Initiative
I co-facilitated an evolution lecture and activity with middle school students at Denny International Middle School.
Are You Smarter Than a Comedian?
I produce a science comedy game show that brings experts and scientists from various fields to share their expertise with curious Seattlites who then use their new knowledge to compete against local comedians in a hilarious trivia standoff. I initiate collaborations, design promotional content, and manage production logistics for this accessible science comedy show for adults. Check out this article about how we got started!
“You’ve Got Potential!” Podcast

During the pandemic, a small group of undergraduates (including me) founded, designed, hosted, and distributed a podcast highlighting undergraduate research and providing resources to enrich student education and aid career development.
Rutgers BRAIN (Building Research, Advocacy, and Innovation in Neuroscience)
President, Vice President, Public Relations Chair/Outreach Officer; August 2019-May 2022
My first long-term commitment to science outreach began with RU BRAIN where I organized events to teach people of all ages and backgrounds about their brains, coordinated a charity gala to fundraise for the American Brain Foundation, hosted career panels, and launched a mentorship group for students interested in research opportunities.
