1. Who we are
Money Saving Expert is an independent, unofficial personal finance tracking application. It is not affiliated with MoneySavingExpert.com or any third-party brand.

2. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how it is stored, and your choices. We designed the App to keep your financial records on your device whenever possible.

3. Information you provide
You may enter:

• Income and expense transactions

• Categories, notes, locations, and attachments you choose to add

• Savings goals and budget limits

• Optional app PIN / lock settings

• Currency and display preferences

This information is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (including the App database and preferences).

4. Information we do not collect as an account service
The App does not require you to create an online account with us. We do not operate a user profile server that stores your transaction history for our own marketing.

5. Device and technical data
The operating system and Google Play services may process limited technical data needed for the App to function (for example, crash diagnostics if you share them with Google, or advertising identifiers used by ad services described in the Advertising Policy).

6. Backup and export
If you use backup, restore, CSV, Excel, or PDF export, files are created on your device or shared only when you choose a share destination. We do not automatically upload your financial data to our servers.

7. Permissions
Depending on features you use, the App may request:

• Internet access — for advertisements and related Google services

• Notifications — for optional reminders you enable

• Storage / files — only when you export, backup, or attach files

• Biometric / device lock — only if you enable app lock features

8. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal financial records. Data may be processed by third-party advertising partners as described in the Advertising Policy. System share sheets you open yourself may send content to apps you select.

9. Data retention and deletion
Your records remain on the device until you delete them, reset App data, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling typically removes local App data, subject to your device and backup settings.

10. Security
We provide optional PIN and related lock features. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Protect your device with a system lock screen and do not share your App PIN.

11. International users
The App may be used in different regions. Local laws may give you additional rights regarding personal data.

12. Changes
We may update this policy inside the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
