MoneyBloom (package name com.zuarinware.moneybloom) is an Android app for tracking your income, expenses, accounts and budgets, developed by Andreas Wiencke (Zuarinware). This page explains how the app handles your data.
In short: MoneyBloom contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The app has no internet access, the developer receives no data from you, and you need no account to use the app.
None. MoneyBloom contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no crash reporting service, and it does not request the internet permission. No financial data, usage data, device identifiers or personal information are transmitted to the developer or to third parties. The app works without registration or an account.
To do its job, MoneyBloom stores the following locally on your device only:
Your financial records such as transactions with amount, date, category, account and notes, as well as your accounts, categories, budgets and recurring transactions.
Receipt photos: if you attach a photo (for example a receipt) to a transaction, the app saves a copy of that image in its private app storage, so it stays available even if the original is moved or deleted. Removing the photo or deleting the transaction deletes the copy.
Your app settings, for example currency, theme, language and reminder settings.
Your app passcode, if you set one. It is stored only as a salted, one-way hash, never in readable form.
All of this data remains on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its app data deletes it.
Notifications: used only for the optional daily reminder. The app asks for the notification permission only when you switch the reminder on.
Photos: photos are selected with the Android photo picker. The app only gets access to the pictures you pick and cannot browse your gallery.
Biometrics: used to unlock the app with fingerprint or face if you enable it. The check is performed entirely by the Android system; the app never receives biometric data.
Screen security: while a passcode is set, the app blocks screenshots and hides its content in the recent-apps overview.
Background scheduling: to deliver reminders and create your recurring transactions reliably, also after a restart, the app uses Android's WorkManager library. It adds technical permissions for starting after boot, briefly keeping the device awake, running a foreground service and checking the network state. None of these give the app internet access.
A CSV export or a backup file is only created when you use the corresponding function, and it is saved to a location you choose in the Android file dialog. Restoring a backup only reads the file you select. These files contain your financial records in readable form. If you store or share them with a cloud storage service or another app, that provider's privacy policy applies.
If you have Android's app backup switched on, Android copies MoneyBloom's database and settings into the backup of your own Google account. Your passcode is never included, and receipt photos are only included in a direct device-to-device transfer, not in the cloud backup. This is done by the Android system, not by the app. On Android 9 and later these backups are end-to-end encrypted when your device has a screen lock. You can switch app backup off in your Android system settings.
MoneyBloom does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
Since no personal data reaches the developer, there is no personal data held about you that could be disclosed, corrected or deleted. The data on your device is under your own control: edit or delete entries in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
