Spring CONCERT information: for all chorus ensembles

**Thursday, April 30th, 6:30 PM, $5 admission at the door**

• Singing Knights (3rd & 7th Periods) - Wear your Chorus t-shirt with a nice pair of jeans (or a nice pair of pants or long skirt). No crocs, sandals, flip flops, slides, or other open-toed shoes.

• Chorale - wear your formal concert attire - solid BLACK close-toed shoes.

• Student performer call time is 5:30 ON STAGE.

• House will open for seating at 6:10 PM. $5 admission,

• Concert will begin at 6:30.

• Concert will conclude around 7:45 PM.

• Final dissmissal will be from the Choir Room!!!! Ask your transportation to be patient, you won't be very long as long as we all get back to the room.

• Service hours will be available for those who stay to help strike the stage and clean up the Choir Room.

MPA: For all chorus ensembles

**Singing Knights - Tuesday, March 3rd, 7:40 AM**

• Wear your concert black attire.

• Warmup in Choir Room at 7:40 AM

• Load buses at 8 AM.

• 8:50 - arrive at Parkway Middle School

• ~10:30 - perform

• 11:15 - depart Parkway Middle

• 12:15 PM - arrive at Monarch

• 12:30 - eat B lunch and go to your 4th period class.

**Chorale - Tuesday, March 3rd, 10:52 AM**

• 10:52 - Eat A lunch

• 11:30 AM - report to Choir Room to warmup

• 12:45 PM - break

• 1:00 - load bus and depart Monarch for Parkway Middle

• 1:50 - arrive at Parkway

• ~3:10 - perform

• 4:30 - depart Parkway for Monarch

• 5:30 - students should be picked up from Monarch.

**Thursday, December 11th, 2025, 6:30 PM, $5 admission at the door**

• Chorale - wear your formal concert attire from the airport performance—solid BLACK close-toed shoes.

• Student performer call time is 5:00 PM for attendance. We will start warm-ups at 5:15.

• House will open for seating at 6:00 PM. $5 admission will be collected by cash or QR.

• Concert will begin at 6:30.

• Performance groups include:

  • Winston Park Singers

  • Winston Park Steel Drum Band

  • Singing Knights

  • Monarch Chorale

  • Mass Choir (combination of all choirs)

• Concert will conclude around 7:45 PM.

• Final dissmissal will be from the Choir Room!!!! Ask your transportation to be patient, you won't be very long as long as we all get back to the room.

Extra Singing Opportunities

Throughout the year, members of both choirs will have opportunities to participate in ensembles and events both locally and around the state. Members of the Singing Knights are heavily encouraged to participate in at least one of the following. Chorale members are expected to participate in as many opportunities as possible. Students registered in an Honors designated course are required to audition for All-State, participate in FAU Honor Choirs, participate in Solo & Ensemble Event, participate in All County Chorus, and perform at the Solo & Ensemble Concert.

Honor Choir Festival on Friday, November, 1st. This is an all-day event with a free concert at Gusman Hall, University of Miami.

FAU Honor Choirs ($40 fee on Monarch e-store covers music, t-shirt, & food)

Registration fee and information due Thursday, October, 10th, 2024.

After-school music checks begin November 6th. (These are check-ins as needed, not full rehearsals)

Honor Choir Festival on Friday, November 15th, 2024. This is an all-day event and free evening concert at FAU main campus in Boca Raton.

Solo & Ensemble Event for ratings

Music decision and entry fee (~$25 available on Monarch e-store) due December 18th.

Solo & Ensemble Event on Friday, February 7th, 2025 at Cypress Bay HS

All-Broward-County Chorus ($5 fee)

Confirmation of participation by January 22nd, 2025

3 required evening rehearsals February (Tentative 4th, 11th, & 18th)

FREE Concert on February 19th, 2025, at Coral Springs The Center for Performing Arts

Solo & Ensemble Concert @ Monarch

Concert on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025.

Those who participated in the Solo & Ensemble Event for ratings will give an encore performance. There will still be auditions available to fill any remaining performance spots in the show.

Community Ensembles

With all the talented musicians in South Florida, there will be various opportunities for high school students to pursue ensembles sponsored by the communities. These community ensembles provide a great deal of extra support and collaboration with fellow student musicians. As information is released about such ensembles, I will post the information within the classroom and on Remind.
