At Moments Vault, we prioritize your privacy by design. Our app operates as a strictly on-device processing tool—meaning we do not store, host, or collect your photos, videos, or personal data.
Moments Vault is a pass-through processing tool, not a storage vault.
Transient Processing: When you select a photo or video, it is processed temporarily in your device's active memory (RAM).
Zero Retention: We do not save your original content or the processed output within the app.
User Control: The final output is saved only to your device’s Photo Library if you explicitly choose to save it. If you do not save it, the data is permanently erased the moment you close the app or start a new session.
To provide its core functionality, Moments Vault uses advanced on-device machine learning to detect and match faces within your current session.
How it Works: We use Apple’s Vision Framework and on-device machine learning models to analyze the photos you select. The app creates a temporary mathematical representation of the face (a "facial embedding") to perform matching or grouping.
Ephemeral Processing: These facial embeddings are processed exclusively in your device's temporary memory (RAM).
No Storage: We do not store, save, or cache these facial embeddings. Once you close the app or finish the session, this biometric data is permanently erased.
No Cloud Processing: All matching occurs locally using CoreML. No facial data is ever sent to external servers or cloud-based API services.
2.1 - User Consent
Users must explicitly consent to facial recognition processing before using the feature. A consent notice is displayed when the feature is first accessed. Users may opt to not see this notice again in subsequent sessions, but consent remains valid as documented.
To provide premium features, we use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases. This process is designed to be privacy-friendly:
Data Not Linked to You: We collect information about Purchase History and App Functionality identifiers.
Anonymous Identifiers: RevenueCat uses a randomized ID to track your purchase status. This data is not linked to your identity, name, or email.
Purpose: This data is used solely to unlock your premium features and ensure your purchases work correctly across your devices.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use any tracking SDKs for advertising or behavioral profiling. The only third-party processor involved is RevenueCat (for purchases), whose privacy policy can be found at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Photo Library: The app requests access to your Photo Library only so you can select specific images and videos for processing and save your final results back to your gallery.
Camera: We do not request or use Camera permissions.
We retain absolutely no user content.
Because the app does not have local storage or a database, all photo and facial data is strictly ephemeral.
Once you close the app, all processing data is wiped from the device's memory.
Purchase records are maintained anonymously by RevenueCat solely for purchase validation.
