Hi! my name is Molly Gerding, Girl Scout and author and illustrator of The Bee Book.

I grew up in Falmouth, Maine, graduated from Falmouth High School with a fine arts endorsement as part of the class of 2026, and recently began studying Geology at Haverford College. I have published writing and artwork in Depaul's Blue Book: Best American High School Writing; GORP, FHS's Literary and Arts Magazine; and the Rise Telling Room climate anthology. I have experience working with kids at High Touch High Tech of Maine STEM summer camps and after school programs and through volunteering at Falmouth Middle and Elementary Schools.

I've been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and, in eighth grade, I earned my Girl Scout Silver Award, the second-highest award in Girl Scouts, for creating a new Girl Scouts of Maine patch and patch guide about the importance of native plants. This experience encouraged me to aim for my Girl Scout Gold Award by writing and illustrating a children's book about native pollinators.
