The Schlimpert lab studies bacterial cell division and development in Streptomyces and related bacteria. Susan's group uses a combination of cell biology, molecular genetics, biochemistry and global ‘omics approaches.
Key research themes are:
Cell division and sporulation
Regulation of multicellular development in bacteria
Cell differentiation
Functional diversity of NOD-like receptors (NLRs) in Streptomyces
