Molecular systematics encompasses a series of approaches in which phylogenetic relationships are inferred using information from macromolecules of the organisms under study. In our lab, we try to infer phylogenetic relationships at different hierarchical levels of angiosperm using sequences of the chloroplast, mitochondrial and nuclear genomes independently and/ or in combination. In the last five years, we have studied the molecular systematics of the genus Capparis, Eriocaulon and Ischaemum in detail (See Publications).
