1. Location information

MokTrail may access your device’s location to show your current position on the map, set starting points and destinations, display routes, calculate travel distance and estimated arrival times, explore nearby places, and simulate movement using Android’s mock location feature.

The developer does not collect or store your location history on a separate server operated by the developer. However, when you use maps, route calculation or nearby search, the coordinates or map area needed for those features may be sent to external services such as Google Maps Platform, OpenStreetMap-based services, Overpass API or OSRM.

2. Mock locations

MokTrail can use the mock location feature in Android Developer options. It works only after you select MokTrail as the mock location app. You can use Restore location to stop MokTrail from controlling your device’s location and return to using the device’s real location.

3. Information stored on your device

To provide its features, MokTrail may store your language, speed and route preferences, route avoidance period, round-trip preference, starting points and destinations, previous starting points, walk status, elapsed time, distance travelled, last simulated location and other app settings on your device.

This information is generally not sent to or stored on a separate server operated by the developer. You can remove it through the app’s deletion features, by clearing app data in Android settings, or by uninstalling the app.

4. Nearby search

Nearby search uses public map data, including OpenStreetMap. Searches may send the map area, search centre coordinates, selected place category and search radius to external services.

Search results and isolated-place estimates are based on public map data. They may differ from actual places or from data used by other services.

5. Advertising

MokTrail may use Google AdMob to provide advertising. When ads are provided, Google or the advertising SDK may process IP addresses, advertising and device identifiers, app and ad usage, ad interactions, and error, diagnostic and performance information.

This information may be used to deliver ads, measure advertising performance, prevent misuse and improve services. Consent for advertising-related data processing may be requested where required.

6. External services

Information processed by external services is subject to each provider’s privacy policy.

7. Sale and sharing of information

The developer does not sell your personal information. The minimum information needed to provide features such as maps, route calculation, nearby search and advertising may be sent to the relevant external service providers.

8. Retention and deletion

MokTrail currently does not provide its own user registration or account system. App settings and walk information are stored primarily on your device.

You can delete data using the app’s history deletion feature, by opening Android Settings → Apps → MokTrail → Storage → Clear data, or by uninstalling MokTrail. External service providers determine the retention periods and deletion procedures for data they hold under their own policies.

9. Your choices

You can grant or deny location and notification permissions, select or deselect MokTrail as the mock location app, use Restore location, delete saved history, clear app data, uninstall the app, and manage advertising privacy settings.

If you deny a permission, features that require it may be unavailable.

10. Children’s privacy

MokTrail was not created to intentionally collect children’s personal information. Safeguards required by applicable law or Google Play policies are applied.

11. Policy changes

This policy may change when app features, external services, advertising SDKs or applicable laws change. Important changes may be announced in the app or on this page.
