speech therapy: poetry and prose on trauma, healing and empowerment
"This is a masterpiece. I am still reeling from the beautifully crafted and deeply raw poems, cutting to the core."
-Geraldine Grimm
this is our english, i want to
tell her. gripping every part of your voice like
you’re waiting to lose it.
my first book, speech therapy explores (amongst other things) Korean War trauma, queer longing via Carly Rae Jepsen, broken toenails, and bad Sunday school experiences. most of all, it celebrates the challenges and joys of poetic langauge and how it can be used to reckon with traumatic violence, heal from it, and empower oneself and others.
