Mokhtar ATTARI is Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (USTHB) and Invited Professor at the Higher School of Engineers (ESDAT) where he instructs Electronics, Instrumentation and Metrology at both the Masters and Engineers levels. He graduated as an Engineer in Electronics from the Ecole Nationale Polytechniques d’Alger in 1985, the Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA) and the Doctorate of Sciences in Instrumentation and Measurement from Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble-INP) and the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA), Grenoble, France respectively in 1987 and 1991. He obtained by recognition the Doctorat d’Etat in Electrical Engineering in 1995. In 1996 he assumed the position of Director of Institute of the current faculty for a five-years term and was elected Director of the Laboratory of Instrumentation Research for three consecutive terms in 2005. From 2000 to 2001, he was invited to Bologna at the IMM laboratory of the Italian CNR, where he primarily focused on characterizing microelectronic devices. His research concentrates on sensor and signal conditioner design, intelligent techniques for correcting sensor characteristics, biomedical instrumentation for physiological signals, and physical rehabilitation. He has overseen research projects with economic impact, supervised numerous dissertations for Technicians, Bachelors, Engineers, Masters, and Doctoral theses, and published over an eighty contributions, including two books, in journals and internationally renowned scientific conferences. He has actively participated in organizing several seminars and conferences in the field and serves as an expert member in the IEEE Sensor Journal.
