MOHSEN LAEI

I'm an architect based in Tehran with over 13 years of experience designing large-scale residential, hospitality, and mixed-use projects across Iran and internationally. Sustainability has been part of my practice since early in my career — from a 2014 Holcim Award submission for a sustainable living space in Yazd, through the Fondation Jacques Rougerie Grand Prix, where I've been a three-time Finalist (2021, 2024, 2025) with projects including Wind Island and NOVASIS.

NOVASIS, my most recent Grand Prix entry, is a modular regenerative floating platform integrating renewable energy, freshwater production, algae cultivation, and marine ecosystem restoration within a single offshore system. It has been featured by Designboom, Yanko Design, and ArchDaily. Wind Island, an earlier Grand Prix Finalist project, explored wind-driven energy generation at sea. I've also served as a Junior Ambassador of the Fondation Jacques Rougerie since 2024.

Alongside this ongoing focus on marine and climate-responsive architecture, I remain active in hospitality and competition design, most recently as a Top 5 Finalist in the Bauhaus Bathroom Design Competition (2026).
