Volunteering, to me, is an opportunity to provide support and make a positive impact in the educational community. From April to October 2024, I had the honor of serving as an Assistant Supervisor in the primary grades department at Hayati Elm School, focusing on supporting students in grades 1 through 3.
My responsibilities included assisting in organizing classroom activities, providing academic support to students, and collaborating closely with teachers to enhance the learning environment. I worked on helping students improve their foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics while ensuring a motivating and encouraging atmosphere in the classroom.
This volunteer experience taught me valuable lessons in patience, effective communication with children, and time management across various tasks. I felt proud to witness the noticeable improvement in students’ performance and to support teachers by easing their daily workload and enhancing student engagement with the curriculum.
My time at Hayati Elm School was more than just a volunteer role; it was a personal and educational journey that impacted me as much as it impacted those I worked with. I realized that volunteering is a powerful way to spread positivity and create meaningful change in people’s lives, especially in the crucial early stages of their education.
