5G Underwater Wireless Optical Network Slicing
The advancement of 5G technology has revolutionized various industries by enabling faster and more reliable wireless communication. Underwater communication is the specific research area where 5G technology holds significant potential. Traditionally, underwater communication systems have relied on acoustic or electromagnetic waves (in RF ranges). Nevertheless, these methods have some limitations in terms of bandwidth, speed, and latency. The 5G optical underwater slicing concept proposes a new approach to underwater communication by utilizing optical signals. Due to this, the proposed 5G optical underwater network slicing model is depicted in the picture, where the optical beam chops into slices according to the data and bandwidth requirement in various underwater applications. Therefore, the primary objectives of this research proposal are as follows:
Investigate the challenges and requirements for implementing optical network slicing in underwater environments;
Develop novel techniques and algorithms for efficient resource allocation and network slicing in underwater communication networks;
Design and evaluate a prototype system for 5G optical network slicing in an underwater environment;
Analyze the performance of the proposed solution through simulations, experiments, and comparative studies;
Provide insights and recommendations for the deployment of 5G optical network slicing in real-time underwater applications.
