Mohammad is currently a postdoctoral research associate at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Virginia Tech. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech with a GPA of 4.0. Mohammad received his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology with a GPA of 92.3. He was ranked the first student among his class (142 students). After that, he joined Central Michigan University where he earned his MSc degree in Engineering Science with 4.0 GPA. His research focuses on Linear and Nonlinear Vibrations, Elastic Metamaterials, Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos, Human Structure Interaction, Energy Harvesting and Renewable Energy, Perturbation Techniques, and Smart Structures. Mohammad is the recipient of many prestigious awards including The Ellen E. Wade Fellowship, The Pratt Fellowship, ASME-Virginia Tech Memorial Scholarship, and The Mechanical Engineering Design and Manufacturing Fellowship Award. Mohammad is also a member in the engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi.
