I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Washington (UW), where I have been studying since January 2023. I obtained my master’s degree in 2020 from the same department. During my time as a Ph.D. student, I completed a concurrent master’s program in Applied Mathematics. In 2018, I graduated with my undergraduate degree as the top student in my class and received the Geda and Phil Condit Endowed Fellowship for two years at UW.
My current research focuses on developing a novel algorithm to solve the nonlinear filtering problem. This work incorporates the theory of optimal transport and deep learning. I have authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in leading ML conferences and control theory journals and have presented at international venues, including ICML, SIAM MDS, and IEEE CDC. I aim to advance the intersection of machine learning, generative models, optimal transport, and control systems through theory-driven computational research.
Throughout my Ph.D., I received multiple competitive awards recognizing both academic excellence and research impact: the A&A Student Excellence Award, the UW SPEEA Aerospace Career Enhancement (ACE) Fellowship (twice), the Sarchin Fellowship Award, and the Outstanding Student Paper Award at the 2024 IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) in Milan, Italy.
