Work Experience
Sheltech Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd.
As a fresh graduate, I started my career as a GIS Analyst at Sheltech Consultants Pvt. Ltd. This role provided me with the opportunity to learn from experts in the field. I would say I was lucky to be part of the in-situ data collection team. My role as a leader of a survey team ,managing challenges to ensure the best quality of GIS data, taught me a lot.
I was later promoted to Executive (Environment). In this role, I was given the responsibility to coordinate with professionals and government officials. The responsibility was challenging, but at the same time, it was interesting to meet new people and getting opportunity to learn from them.
Centre for Development Innovation and Practices (CDIP)
The Canadian government funds small-scale, high-impact projects under the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) program. I worked as a Community Trainer for one of their projects, titled 'Building Community Resilience through Adaptation Strategies to Combat Saline Water Depletion in Nijhum Dwip Union under Climate Change.'
My responsibility as a community trainer was to stay on the island for three days and raise awareness by teaching children and women. It was one of the best experiential learning opportunities I have ever had. Staying there and experiencing their way of life changed my view on life and on people who are isolated from the modern benefits of the world.
