Mathematics: Choosing between the passion of the pure and the charm of the applied
In the last lap of their academic journey, students are faced with the dilemma of choosing between pursuing a career in pure or applied mathematics, and what makes such a choice challenging is the overgrowing stereotype implying that applied stands for an "easy" tool for money while pure stands for a "delicate" art, with "no aesthetes", for the elites.

Personally, I lean towards a third option in which one is allowed to "have his cake and eat it too". That is, applied mathematicians can dig deep into the theoretical realm giving rise to their applied findings, which in turn gives them a taste of the passion of the pure side, while pure mathematicians are also allowed to incline towards the applied (practical) side to get an intuitive charming sense of what they should expect.
