Aaslema, My name is Mohamed. Born and raised in Tunis, Tunisia. I am currently a first-year PhD student in Social and Political Science at Bocconi University. My research explores how conflict, ideology, and social norms shape politics in the MENA region and beyond, with a focus on islamist-secular divide, youth-mobilization, authoritarian survival, politics in the virtual space (i.e. social media), and gender dynamics.

Before starting my PhD, I studied International Affairs and Economics (BA) at Northeastern University in Boston and earned my MSc in Politics and Policy Analysis at Bocconi University. I was also a Pre-Doctoral fellow at the AXA Research Lab on Gender Equality for 2 years.
